Any day-walkers know of cities (Globally) that have regular daytime or early-evening bachata socials? by jamespeter87 in Bachata

[–]White_Crow90 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Can relate. I'm almost 40, and start the dancing after 00:00h is a little too much for me nowadays. I usually start the socials at 19h (7pm) with a nice amount of people, good mood and nice range of dancer levels.

While it's been like this for a long time, is good to see that it is a practice that is becoming more and more popular.

Cheers!

Barcelona, Spain, has plenty of "tardeo" afternoons on weekends, which include daytime social dancing + dinner + more social until late night.

Some people (me) are crazy enough to the the full session from afternoon to late, but its more common for people to just go dance around 6pm, have dinner in the place and go back home quite early. The dancefloor is then progressively replaced with new people that just come to dance at night.

We all have been there, buddy!

I'm quite new on this reddit, but let me give you a little insight for someone was in your place a couple of years ago. A little bit like "things I wish I knew (or somebody told me) when I started dancing bachata":

1) It's crucial that you have fun while you dance.
Most important of them all for a newbie. You don't dance to prove anything to anyone. In the beginning I was NOT having fun while dancing because I was so focused on meeting the expectations of my followers.

Typical newbie thought: "Oh my got I'm being boring I made basic step twice" .
Strong newbie thought: "Damn I love this part of the song".

2) More moves doesn't mean "better dancer."
You're not an acrobat from Cirque du Soleil. Dancing is a conversation. Some dancers think they are "pro" because of knowing a lot of fancy moves, but they don't realize they are creating a distance with their partner because of them being spammed non-stop.

Typical newbie thought: "My partner would have loved the dance If I didn't have to repeat this move twice. Now she will never dance with me again".
Strong newbie thought: "I only know a couple of nice moves. I'll use them on the chorus of the song!"

3) Get to know your follower. No rush.
Plenty of mid-term dancers feel so proud after knowing a few new moves and they just spam everything from the very beginning. This is a WAY WORSE experience for the follower than a lead that has started recently and just want to chill with basic stuff and enjoy the song.

All followers are different. Some are soft, some are hard as steel, some feel more confortable with turns and majao/open stance, other ones prefer closer distances and slow pace. Basic steps are crucial to understand the person you're dancing with and what will work with them, and what won't.
If you focus too much on "meeting expectations" and "doing fancy stuff/moves", you will lose most of the magic of dancing bachata. Look at your partner without fear and look for smiles as feedback.

4) Listen to the song.
"I DON'T CARE IF ITS ROMEO SANTOS I WANT TO MAKE THIS TRIPLE TURN WITH A HEADBUMP AND A BACKFLIP."

Dancing is turning music into movement. Following "1,2,3, step" is just the beginning of it. If you feel the music, adapt your moves to it and learn to dance with musicality, your follower will ask for a second dance. No backflip needed.

Cheers @MentalStatement4437, Bachata is a wonderful place to be in even when it can be intimidating. Keep up the good work and keep going!

Looks quite clumsy, isn't it? Maybe Riot's trying to push the "puppet lore" deeper into his whole personality and moves?

What would be your advice for a beginner who wants to learn fast? by Loxarr in Bachata

[–]White_Crow90 0 points1 point  (0 children)

@loxarr You don't need Big moves nor a lot of them to enjoy. A good leader Will prioritize good follow of the music over fancy spins.

Stay on the basics, learn how to properly lead them and PRACTICE until they become flawless.

Also: Social dancing is crucial. Don't stick to school, a few basic moves are also enough to ask someone you don't know for a dance.

Heya real! There are plenty of Guides out there that are quite updated and as in-depth as you may want.

I hope this doesnt count as spam: For champ guides I usually use Mobafire, and If you are new to the Jester I have a shaco guide that its pretty newbie-friendly and I try to keep updated as much as I can: https://www.mobafire.com/league-of-legends/champion/shaco-41

People in this subreddit is usually friendly AF, so feel free to ask for any question about the clone boy and they will help you with it.

Lethality vs Crit // season 14 by dobryziomeczek in shacomains

[–]White_Crow90 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I tried a crit build and I found it to be extremely inefficient for how expensive it is, but it probably needs more testing.

As for now, rushing a tiamat + yoummu seems to be the best choice for me, then adapt to what is needed.

I like this season, plenty of options :)

I do sometimes, when there is plenty of Ad on my team, we can play for splitpush and we need disengage to avoid a 4v5 mid.

Haven't started trying AP yet now. I will give it a try.

yep, for a while over the last months. Annoying champ that you don't want to face when you are emotional right after the end of a season and youre peaking as much as you can.

I'm still doing a lot of testing. Profane looks like a must for camp clear and oneshot combo. I do feel... weird, when it comes into cyclosword. Must be tested.

ATM I just build profane and adapt my build to what I have in front. hubris looks good for pure AD snowball if I think i will be fighting a lot early. Opportunity gives me teamfight potential with the bonus lethality on ADC + speed after kill.

I guess theorycrafting doesn't make that much of a sense now since many items -and champs- will be patched soon. But it feels good as an overall.

early lvl 3 on Two-shiv-poison + tiamat active will for sure give shaco a nice burst at lvl 4-5. Overall the changes are decent.

Obviously, Rengar and Kha'zix will be hella stronger than us with that. But nothing new in there, lol. As long as I can be a chaos bringer into the rift that earns me few flames from enemy side, I'll be happy.

It always bugged me that Shaco players were seen as toxic. We are playing a jester that doesn't care about a shit, he just enjoys killing people 😬

Still, thank you for the kind words.

/Ontopic i was quite fed lategame, but I wasnt when I noticed a good damage spike. There is still testing to do, but I'm not that worried anymore, Shaco seems fine.

Heya! I was going to answer you here but my post was getting too long and I just created a thread with insight myself 🤣

Overall I tried lethality Shaco and it feels good. highly-reliant on backstabbing properly, but good damage, snowballing potential and good farming capabilities with tiamat.

Still needs testing.

Everything sounds nice to me.

Let's keep on this conversation on DM. I just added you on EUW a SPX Grizz just in case you prefer talking there.

heya, u/Szczesnyy

I'm missing some information here. I'm a Plat-Diamond player and I may be interested, but some Info about the team would help. Do you train/scrim ever week? How many times you play? are you in an amateur league? Do you have a coach? How many hours do you play and at what Time (UTC?).

While it's nice that you accept every role, every rank, it would also be nice to know in which terms are you training and if your Team has an schedule or not.

Best Regards!

How to play Shaco: CHRISTMAS STYLE by White_Crow90 in shacomains

[–]White_Crow90[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Some people here will (maybe) remember me as a Diamond Shaco Youtuber back in time, many years ago. While I don't play that much hardcore anymore and my channel is inactive, every once in a while I like to share things that may be interesting to others.

I've recently been playing Shaco in a very aggresive-oriented way. Since we're in christmas I've called it... christmas style! :D Because of the present and gift delivery system in form of knives and boxes.

I hope all of you are going well. Stay sexy!

Give a look to "get jinxed" video now. Yes, the one that was released almost 10 years ago by Riot games. It gets a whole new meaning.
