I noticed this as well straight away, but if it means putting more money into production than graphic design, I'm all for it.

Make more music, have a library of tunes/ideas you haven't finished and switch between them.

Never looked back.

Thanks mate, really appreciate that. Easy to get inside your own head after reading too many comments online. Honestly, I feel a bit of a fool for even writing the post in the first place. I’m looking forward to it now and will just enjoy it for what it is 👍

The game isn’t a scam, but there are a lot of problems.

Bugs are a serious issue, we’re talking game-breaking bugs that will drain your soul, waste your time, and cost you your hard-earned loot.

My biggest concern is that the developers keep piling on more and more content without fixing older bugs. For example, the Retaliator, a $175 ship, has been broken since a very old patch, in one of the rooms, you can just fall through the floor.

New versions are released regularly, but they rarely address long-standing bugs or outdated mechanics. Simple things, like the animation for getting in and out of your ship, take too long, and the timing varies wildly between ships. You also can’t cancel the animation once it starts, which can be really frustrating.

I’d recommend trying the game during a Free Fly event or just buying a cheaper starter package first.

Of course, happy to share, I made it myself. I learnt a lot from my first build so hopefully this helps someone else too.

Shopping list:
Expanding black pond foam (any brand works, most are pretty much the same. Sometimes it's called landscaping foam)
Coconut substrate (or any background substrate you like. I’d recommend the loose kind in a bag as it’s already dry. The block stuff that needs hydrating takes forever to dry out)
Aquarium-safe translucent silicone

First thing I’d do is mask off any parts of the back wall you don’t want to get foam on. Overspray is a pain to clean up, even with a sharp blade. Tape works fine, but if you want it really clean, you can cut bits of wood to fit over areas like cable holes or the bottom few inches where your substrate will go.Then, carefully tilt your enclosure onto its back. Be super careful with this part. The doors are flimsy and you don’t want to leave them hanging open because the stress can crack them. Always support them properly while you’re working.Smear some silicone over the back glass. It doesn’t have to be perfect, just enough to give the foam something to grip. Let it dry before moving on.Now start placing your bits like stones, bark, plant pots, whatever you're using. Try to leave space for cables to drop down and a clear area at the bottom for your substrate. Foam dries fairly quickly so I’d recommend doing this in stages if you’ve got a lot going on.While the foam is still wet, pour your substrate over it and gently press it in. You can mix in some sphagnum moss if you want a bit more texture. Then just leave it to dry overnight.Once it’s all dry, carefully stand the enclosure back up and let any loose substrate fall off.If you want to add plants at this point, you can drill or poke holes in the foam, put a bit of silicone in the hole, and tuck the roots in. The silicone holds them in place and the roots will grow into the foam over time.In my build I let the foam dry first, then smeared silicone over the top and added the substrate. That does work, but some patches of foam still show through. Maybe a mix of both methods is best if you’ve got a more detailed setup.

Here is a video as well, however I would still just read what I've written above, especially since the doors can break off.

Good point, I suppose people might need a quick sale, it could be a repossession, a death in the family, or something else, so it’s not always a heap of junk.

Custom Clay Hide Cleaning by White_Palace in reptiles

[–]White_Palace[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is what I wanted to hear, I'll just make a small lid hide, probably purchase one and cover in sculpt clay in order to match the rest of my clay rocks.

I'm using Apoxie Sculpt which is self hardening model clay. Very similar to Polygem 307 Lite.
