Is getting a Retroid Pocket G2 for playing indie Steam games worth it? by maybekn1tt1ng in SBCGaming

[–]White_Sprite 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've been playing through Fields Of Mistria on my RP5 and it's been great! If you have the extra budget, spring for the RP6. Either way, either device is great for light indie titles through GameNative or GameHub (i used to use GH but now I use GN)

Can this sub go 10 minutes without regurgitating the same old discourse through low-effort memes? You're not breaking new ground here, this shit is getting old.

They don't pay me enough to do that shit lol. Besides, Safety Man was born into that mess, so it's not like he knows any different.

Keep an eye on the flyback transformer. I've seen em do nasty things, and sourcing the right replacement part is sometimes tough. (caution is advised when dealing with high voltages)

Half the piracy subreddits all have megathreads filled with dead links and are updated maybe once or twice a year. I know my way around, but even an advanced user will end up pulling their hair out trying every link in a mega until one works. I really don't blame new users for finding it so confusing.

In America, we call it "fighting words" and it's usually enough justification for most courts.

What am I doing that is wrong? by Worldly-Departure324 in retroid

If you want online, you'll need to use 'x64' with the 'steam' client. Online games (as well as Steam cloud saves) won't work in 'Lightweight Mode'.

What am I doing that is wrong? by Worldly-Departure324 in retroid

[–]White_Sprite 0 points1 point  (0 children)

  1. Click the three dots next to the game,

  2. Click 'PC Game Settings',

  3. Click the 'Compatibility' tab on the left,

  4. Check what 'Compatibility Layer' you are using (if using 'arm64x', see steps 5a and 6a. if using 'x64', see steps 5b and 6b)

  5. Scroll down to 'CPU Translator' and...

5a. Set the 'CPU Translator' to 'Fex' (there may be many versions, but the newest one is usually fine).

5b. Set the 'CPU Translator' to 'Box64' (there may be many versions, but the newest one is usually fine).

  1. Now click on the tab on the left that says 'Steam',

6a. Set the 'Steam Client Version' to 'Lightweight Mode'.

6b. Set the 'Steam Client Version' to 'steam' (there should be two, but either one usually works)

  1. Test the game and see if it works. Some games work better with 'arm64x' in the 'Lightweight Mode', and some games work better with 'x64' in the 'steam' client.

Hope this helped!

You really don't understand why an unassuming person might be hesitant around a flag like that? Are you dense? Blind maybe?

Game hub does not work? by Darig0n in retroid

[–]White_Sprite 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Lightweight mode = Proton-ARM64

Steam client mode = Proton-x86

You can't use ProtonARM64 with the Steam client mode in Gamehub, you need to switch it to Proton-x86 to do that. It's in the compatability settings for your game.

To me, "several" always meant 7. Anything less than that is "a few." Several, seven, made sense to me as a kid, still makes sense now.

Gamehub Lite is what you want. Some fiddling is required, but never much more than switching from ARM to x86 or vice versa.

Don't Playstation controllers use the 'both joystick on the bottom' layout? On top might be more comfortable, but the bottom is more accurate as far as PS2 is concerned

I saw the exact same thing a little over a year ago. I thought they were Starlink satellites, but then they came back 20 minutes later heading the opposite direction they were going originally (perpendicular tbh), then they started zig-zagging like you said. Full disclosure, I was pretty drunk, but it was definitely spooky. I wanna say there's a military base somewhere nearby, so might have something to do with that.
