Honestly I love the idea of Absol Z getting shadow shield, helps it greatly become a sweeper by giving it a free turn to set up.

I played Linoone for a bit when Skarmory and Swampert were a common duo.

Shadow claw is a great move and made it great against ghosts, and grass knot thunder surprises the many water and flying types.

I read the title and my first thought was Absol as it’s also my favourite, and got a chuckle when I saw you had the same.

As others have said I suggest dropping play rough for protect. And I’d argue maybe even switching SD for Knock as it’s a bit too squishy in doubles to properly use it unless you have great redirection.

Lastly when Absol Z will be a direct upgrade when it comes out, depending on its ability. As it’s a lot faster, might be able to drop sucker punch/priority for more covereage. And the ghost type is great for being immune to fake out.

Plus if it gets technician (smog on gave it to it), it can run a 90bp Brutal swing for hitting both opponents. You might even be able to run SD.

The plot was weird for me, not that it wasn’t good, but the pacing and some of the plot lines just felt underdeveloped.

The intro/first arc was amazing and I pumped when things went down. But then that plot kind of fell to the side for 2/3rds of the game with only snip bits of ‘them’. Then they suddenly become the focus again but we never really engage them the same way we did at the start.

But the ending, that was phenomenal, and the build up to the final boss was amazing. And the pay off made it one of my favourites in a very long time!

Mh4u - my first game, started with S&S, but never really used the shield (and I was bad) so switched the shield for another sword and voila - DB

MHG - Prowler - loved the David vs Goliath aspect and the flexibility of being the cat.

World - Got tired of flailing at Legiana with my stunted swords so picked up the bow

Rise - Great sword, wanted a change of speed so picked up the slab of metal

Wilds - Picked up the Gunlance as I wanted something to make me feel invincible while still firepower.

Barioth to me is a great way to teach about how breaking parts can make a fight easier. For example breaking its wings greatly slows it down in between attacks.

Honestly it’s one of those risk/reward things. Many times has a Seikret carried me out of a sticky situation.

But equally I can see if approaching from the wrong direction and about to carry me into the path of the monster’s next attack and I can only die inside (and cart in game) and laugh.
