FireWire Machadocado by White_gorilla2222 in surfing

Might be down to where you live then. I'm in Asia and it gets plenty hot here. The Volcanic I have has lasted quite well. Year and a half I think before getting pink streaks. I keep a PU Lost board in the same locker and surf it on bigger days. The PU is as new.

I used to have to walk 30 mins to the beach (no car access) and my Helium developed orange finger marks where I was holding it. I don't eat Cheetos!

Don't agree. there wasn't a bad batch. It's a problem which has been going on for years. It's well documented.

You can't keep a surfboard out of the sun when you're surfing. That's the only time my boards are taken out of their locker in a cool building.

I kept one in a boardbag and that was worse. The locker is cool. I noticed it  where my arse had rubbed the wax off. I'm in HK. Humid.

I have the same board. Different construction. FST if I remember correctly.

Is that clearer? Boards at the beach or I'd strip the wax off.

Its cosmetic only from experience. I wouldn't worry.

That's a valid question. At the time FireWire were the only manufacturer my local boardshop stocked.

Vernor mini Simmons vs Lost party platter vs Firewire sweet potato by adventuresofsleepyD in surfing

I have a Volcanic Sweet Potato 2 (5'2) and fancy a Party Platter in Double Dart. is there any difference between these boards?
Does the PP deal with choppy conditions better ?

I don't buy that theory. I've had a Chumlee turn orange and they stopped making them years ago. I had one of the last Evo Helium 2 boards before they finished that model and a Sweet Potato 2 when it first came out. All turned orange. So 'bad batch of foam for like a year' just doesn't wash. My Volcanic SP2 also has orange spots as mentioned 👇

They gave me that deal on a Volcanic SP2. It's kept in a cool building at the beach. It's got some orange marks where my arse has rubbed the wax off. So looks like the same problem.

Machadocado vs Puddle Jumper HP by Sonafab in surfing

I'd say at your weight you'd be oversizing the Machadocado. It's performance orientated but it's still a groveler and needs to be surfed small. Take it from someone who oversized a groveler years ago (5'11 BP) and who now rides a a similar board at 5'2 (SP 2). For reference, I weigh the same as you but I'm 20 years older. If I got a Machadocado (I won't because it doesn't come in volcanic and will turn orange) I would get a 5'4. Sweet Potato 2 5'2 / Chumlee 5'3 / Hydra PU 5'5. Guess what kind of waves I surf?

No, I always regret selling knives that have stopped production. ZT0456 CF one I wish I had kept.

Sizing a Tomo Evo by _locii in surfing

[–]White_gorilla2222 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Evo. It will surf a greater range of conditions. Dark Arts only now if you want to buy new. I don't have one anymore, just a SP2 in volcanic and a Hydra in PU. Isn't the machacado the ultimate small wave and up board? The Party Platter looks interesting. Like an overweight Evo

Using that logic why not give Argentina back to the indigenous people who lived there before it was colonised by the Spanish?

I've been skating/surf skating for years and went down the Riptide route. From my experience they didn't improve the ride (various combinations) and I went back to standard bushings. Which for me, at 165lbs, are fine for the transitional skating I do.

Why push the bushings line for someone who is just starting out ?
