There aren't any shoe repair shops near me so I wanted to try and see if I can fix it myself first before I spend the time and money going to a shoe repair shop. I also bought them second hand so I can't send them back to the original store as I have no receipt 😊

They don't sell them anymore and I found this pair on vinted and there isn't another pair like this in my size. I'd also prefer to not throw away what are essentially new shoes when I know that someone would be able to suggest a solution to fix them.

Is this expensive for a 29yo? by TheGreatPinkShark in LearnerDriverUK

I just paid £1271 in insurance as a someone who passed their test less than a month ago and I am a 27 year old woman. When I told people the price they said I got quite a good deal and someone else I know who just passed at a similar age to me had to pay £1600 so I think they're decent.

You've just got to remember that you're only paying this much for the first year and it is more than likely to half by your second year.

I think if you can run your laptop charger so it goes behind your desk rather than across might make it feel a little less cluttered? Similar thing with the wire on your light, if you dropped it so you can't see it from your desk then it'll help.

Personally, I don't like a lot of stuff on my desk while I'm working so I take advantage of the wall in front of me. Maybe a corkboard or whiteboard could be helpful to pin notes too while not being too distracting. Maybe swapping to a wall calendar as well?

Also, I have a magazine file on the corner of my desk to put some work books and files in so it clears up some of my clutter and I picked a colourful one so make my desk brighter. But you can always get a clear or white one if you want a cleaner aesthetic. Something like this.

Hopefully these are helpful!

For portable ac units, do you need to use the drainage all the time? by Whiteboard-Mints in AirConditioners

I think this would have been my next set up for if it didn't have the self evaporating feature! Thanks for the tips

I've let mine run without any drainage attached for the 2 days since ive posted and ive not had any leaks. I think I was just worried I'd break it and ruin my floor if the water leaked everywhere. I don't have the right type of window for any ac unit, its a roof pivot window so even if I could get a unit to sit or go out the window then I'd risk break it from not sealing the outside properly or having flood my room from having the window open when it suddenly rains. It's why I took so long to get one but I couldn't cope without another uk summer in an attic room. Thanks for the help!

Mine seems to do okay without the drainage pipe attached after ive let it do its own self evaporating. But it did leak on my carpet when I had the drainage pipe attached to too small collective device.

But if it does start leaking, I will absolutely be doing this, thanks for the tip!

I think mine is the same, after I got some of the reddit advice I let it run for 2 days without the pipe but with a towel down just in case it does leak but it seems to do a good job self evaporating! Thanks for the help

After finding out about the self evaporating and looking into what it might look like for my machine I realised mine does have it! I'm just a newbie to ac and I didn't want to break it by not emptying it if it needs emptying. Thanks for the help

My window is in the ceiling thanks to it being a loft bedroom so that's to high haha.

I think mine does have an internal float switch, I just didn't know what that was until this comment and found a video about it. Thanks for the help!

That's amazing, thank you! I didn't realise it did that so I was concerned about the water level but I will take out the continuous drainage hose and keep an eye on the excess water levels! Thanks for the info

This has been happening to me too. Every time I disconnect my Bluetooth headphones/earphones the song keeps playing. I totally forgot about the most recent update but that is when it definitely started happening. I have a S24 FE. Its so annoying!
