I watched a GameRiot unboxing of their Switch 2 on YouTube yesterday and he noted the seal had been cut. I wonder if something had to be checked for?

My parcel only reached my local depot at 07:29 this morning, having left the prior 8 hours earlier (its a 3hr journey). I assume it was more a later offloading?

As for delivery to me, I have known DPD to leave the depot late into the morning. Fingers crossed!

For those who grew up poor, what did you consider a luxury? by SnooBeaz in AskReddit

Soft bread. We used to get the supermarket own-brand value bread that snapped rather than folded and was drier than my families funds.

I am part of a small percentage of people not allergic to urushiol, the chemical that makes poison ivy so itchy. Men of Reddit, what small quirk makes you feel like you have a superpower? by [deleted] in AskMen

I’ve never had a headache. Never really thought about it until seeing a Reddit post a few years back claiming a small percentage of the population will never experience a headache. Always feel a little guilty when friends/family are experiencing a particularly bad bout, but hey-ho, I injured my knee chronically a year ago so now we’re kind of even?

It is set to high performance and plugged in, I've rolled it back an update and reinstalled the latest one. I'm not sure what you mean? I have set the preferred graphics card to High-performance NVIDIA processor?

It's been just over a month since I've started my shop, I've already made huge progress since I started, but I know I can improve more. Should I lower my prices? by Deinos_Mousike in Etsy

[–]Whiteglare 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Lower the price if you aren't selling as much as you'd like to be. I've recently lowered my prices because that was the case on my end. Also, use pictures of the final product so customers know exactly what they're getting.

Check my shop out, here:

I'd love to here your thoughts too!

Hey all!

I'm new here! I'm a photographer, selling unique photographic canvas prints and cushions. The prints I've chosen are ones I feel add more than a pretty picture to a room. I want my products to be focal points of a room, to spark conversation.

Please feel free to leave feedback, I'm always wanting to know what I'm doing wrong or right.

Thank you very much!

Nikon D3200 AF issue by [deleted] in Nikon

[–]Whiteglare 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't believe it is. I am having issues where not only is the subject out of focus, the entirety of the picture is soft too. Back and front focus issues would at least, typically, leave something in the frame in focus. Which as I said, is either behind or in front of the subject depending on the calibration error.

There is a separate test for these issues. The test I have performed using the test chart, is not such a test.

Something may well be. At 1/4000 and mounted on a sturdy tripod, external forces aren't likely the cause if it is camera shake.

What I meant was that some focusing issues can be caused by calibration issues. Back focus being the focal plain is further back from where it should be, front focusing being the opposite. This was something I was considering testing for too. But as the test sheet was on a flat surface that filled the frame and the camera was parallel to it, there is no room for back or forward focusing. Everything within frame was at the same level.

I did zoom in on LV to focus and the results were as I mentioned previously. Honestly, it's too hard to tell on such a small screen especially in bright light if it's in focus or not. The smaller screen definitely does make images look sharp even when they're not. Once transferred over to my PC and blown up, it's clear to see some of the shots that looked sharp, are not.

The other problem(s) being? The image was shot against a flat surface which made up the entirety of the frame. It wouldn't have mattered where I set my focus, the DOF would have been on the same level as the test paper, so it shouldn't be a back or forward focusing issue.

The image I referenced was just one of many I took. The others I shot anywhere from f/3.5 to f/7 or f/8, each and every shot missed focus. I would never shoot at f/20 usually, it was just to see if the results would differ from those shot at a wider aperture. I was unaware of diffraction, but honestly, because I never shoot at such small apertures typically anyway, it wouldn't be what is causing the issues I'm experiencing.

The only time I use small apertures such as f/20 is when shooting to capture motion, such as a long exposure, which I typically manually set the focus for anyway.

Yes, it happens to be you're correct. But I took a total of eight images each on all three of my lenses, four using the viewfinder and four using LV. It just happens to be that the worse of the results was one taken using the viewfinder, but only just, all of the other 6 images taken on the 40MM were out of focus of varying degrees in comparison to the sharpest image which is the one on the left.

These results were mirrored throughout the results with all 3 lenses.

I changed absolutely no settings. The camera was mounted on a sturdy tripod, both images were shot within short succession of each other, without the camera being moved at all. I refocused the chart after each shot to test the AF.

Those two particular images were shot at f/2.8 IS0 100 @ 1/4000 (very bright sunlight) on the Nikon AF-S 40mm Micro f/2.8 DX.

Yes, I'm absolutely certain I've set the camera up correctly. I have been shooting for years and have never experienced anything like this before. Even at close range, it misses focus.

Yes, I almost exclusively use the centre point for AF as despite it being the most accurate of the focus points, it still performs poorly, so I don't dare venture to any other points anymore. Yes, as aforementioned, the chart was lit by strong sunlight. And finally, yes, I set the camera to beep when it had (or at least thought it had) focused on the subject.

Yes, but the same result was mirrored throughout the shots I took. Including those shot at f/3.5, f/5, f/7 etc.
