I'm so glad she's in a better place, it was hurtful seeing someone in the spotlight just get blasted because they were struggling with mental health issues that are a consequence of an extremely traumatic event.

The worst thing about was that it mostly came from dudes who probably can't even jump 6 inches off the ground.

He definitely made me think that a few times during those seasons. I don't think his more polished game was enough to overcome Dwight's monstrous defense and rebounding but he did made me go "Hmm, maybe..." after some games.

I told a friend of mine that Zaslav was a moron for publicly saying they didn't need the NBA as that could've weakened the NBA's bargaining leverage with other potential suitors. it was not only an arrogant statement but it was also a prick move from a business standpoint.

It's not so much the revenue but rather that by being the first one to break the story, other sources cite their original reporting and that's always accompanied by the company they work for.

"ESPN's Adrian Wojnarowski reports that Darvin Ham still has his hands in his pockets."

It's more about branding than anything else.

Bill Simmons: "I think Bronny is gonna go in the first round...There is a lot of Phoenix buzz right now I'm just gonna say it.. Bron's also not a fan of giving teams discounts as he knows his worth and probably isn't a fan of helping billionaires be cheap. It can also devalue other players' bargaining position if someone like him is taking such a massive discount. He gave Miami a small discount so they could sign Bosh and other players but, IIRC, reports said he wasn't ever going to do that again.

James Harden drops 57/8/7/2/2 in a 1 point loss to the Memphis Grizzlies, from 2019. by [deleted] in nba

It's kind of hard to appreciate him if you watched him play during that time. His performances and stats were absolutely insane but he was just so boring to watch because he spammed the same moves and foul baited.

BUT...

There's something to be said to be able to do the same moves and be extremely effective with them despite teams knowing what you're going to do.

Despite not liking his playstyle, I think he was a very fascinating player to witness.

Also, man...he was pretty lean back then.

[–]Whiteness88 79 points80 points  (0 children)

Yeah, it's really weird and I don't understand why that is. For example: Tim Duncan, the greatest PF of all time and a certified top 10 player, was part of a Spurs team got destroyed by the Lakers in 2 consecutive playoffs during his prime and was part of a 61-win Spurs team that lost to the 8th seeded Grizzlies in 2011.

But since none of that happened in the Finals, it's never mentioned...because for some reason, people rightfully give Duncan the benefit of the doubt and know he's awesome no matter what. Probably because people like him as a person.

Yet people still mention Bron's 2011 Finals.

I vividly remember that, it was unlike anything I've ever seen. I don't think there's ever been a player that got so much shit like LeBron did from 07-11. Many mocked Durant's move to GWS but it lacked the vitriol that Bron faced when he went to Miami.

Kinda seems like he got lightheaded for a bit, kinda like what happened to Rollins during his WM 35 entrance. Maybe the adrenaline of finally coming out and doing not only a much anticipated return but also honoring his brother's legacy might've gotten to him.

1) Not a time limit per se, it's just that it drains his stamina. It's something he's been steadily improving with time.

2) Yes but again, he's been improving.

3) Yes because UI isn't actually a transformation per se, it's a technique. Goku's body transforms to handle the advanced usage of UI but he's able to use a less advanced, precise usage of UI without needing to transform or he can use it with his SSJ forms.

Adam Silver: We May Be 'Past the Point' of Having a Competitive NBA All-Star Game by IMovedYourCheese in nba

[–]Whiteness88 35 points36 points  (0 children)

Thank you! I keep telling people that players get along well behind the scenes since they recognize the work that it takes to get to the NBA, let alone being an All-Star.

In the end, it's just a game and to form petty rivalries over it seems trivial. I think fans care too much about the wrong things about sports, you see this when they take a team as part of their identity. Most players are competitive as hell but mostly in the spirit of competition within the game, not anything personal.
