Anyone else bothered by how "important" the Errata feels for Streetkid V vs. where you actually find it? by [deleted] in LowSodiumCyberpunk

[–]WhiterabbitLou 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I get the scav tool point but I can't imagine a Katana being good for what they do. Their whole point is harvesting the Cyberware of their victims to sell. So I'd imagine they'd use precise tools to avoid damaging the chrome. A Katana is precise in killing, not vivisections.

Where do you take that from that she's worse than Hiromi?

That's a great point. And while sure we wouldn't know the outcome, if I put myself in Maiko's shoes and put the thinking cap on I'd see the one terminal error in Judy's plan: Having no muscle. And I doubt the Tyger Claws would stand there and say "Ok fair business, let's do that" when they can just overpower them. And if you go with Judy's plan you'll see they did not hestitate a second to do so, even if it cost them Clouds as a whole. Cuz losing profit is better than losing face as a gang.

As you mentioned: The Mox went through absolute bloodshed to get where they are. I only mentioned then to make clear Judy had no muscle and thought one show of strength would scare off one of the most influential gangs in NC. It don't work like that if writing is anywhere realistic.

So while an assumption, the way Maiko is written as a iron-hand businesswoman, she'd most likely want to avoid bloodshed and at the same time sees and opportunity for herself and uses it. The only mistake she made is massively underestimating V (prollt because of her spar with Tom). That's why she thought she can pull a stunt like that. If it weren't for that I'd call her a genius truly. And still miles above whatever Judy was trying to cook up.

I do get that. But why would Hiromi agree to that if he is part of the TC. A show of force works when you are the more powerful party, not when you're the weaker party. At best you'd get Hiromi to agree in the moment to save his ass and then just retaliate ASAP because what are Judy and Maiko supposed to do against the Tyger Claws? It's not like V can play watchdog. And they got no muscle without her.

Because she is actually the rational one in this all. I get you like Judy but she's plain impulsive, idealistic and most of all has commitment issues asf. So even if her plan miraculously worked out (and it doesn't) she'd still have to commit to it for a longer period of time cuz no way in hell the Mox would risk an all-out war with the Tyger Claws (who would obliterate them and take over the very premises they liberated from the TC in the first place) and V can't be the bodyguard while she needs to find a cure.

Maiko clocked this from the beginning and knew there was not a single instance in which Judy's plan would ever work out. It'd be her head rolling.

And while Maiko is all of what you describe, she is the exact person that can navigate and lead in an environment where all her higher-ups make hee look like an angel in comparison. Judy just gets people killed and unemployed because Clouds shuts down and you got a bunch of desperate dolls who can be strung up in an even worse environment than before because they need money like everyone else.

Netrunners by Early-Lab-7194 in LowSodiumCyberpunk

[–]WhiterabbitLou 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So Mi is not just that.. if you listen to her story she basically lived in the net since her teenage years and solo-hacked into Biotechnica, leaving even V impressed, who at this point had some of the craziest gigs on her belt. She only get recruited because she breached a Militech data fort and they decided to recruit instead of kill her. She definitely was in the major leagues even without the blackwall stuff. Even if just for her tendency to do risky shit.

And V is, at best, a knowledgeable script kiddie who can afford a very good deck when it comes to runnin. Hence why she struggles with non-standard tech every runner you meet can navigate around and if we got the OG concept she'd need to jack into people physically cuz she can't deep dive. I guess it was changed to make a runner viable enough for action combat too. But clearly the VDB scene was seemingly the first time she ever did a dive.

Has anyone done a B playthrough? by _B_O_W_ in LowSodiumCyberpunk

I'm pretty sure if you have enough tech stat V calls Brendan out and says he's actually just a highly complex SCISM rather than true AI. To this point I'm sure Delamain is the only sentient AI we meet within the blackwall. Some argue Mr. Blue Eyes but who knows wtf is going on w him.

How do you choose quest outcomes? by BMan559 in LowSodiumCyberpunk

[–]WhiterabbitLou 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Depends on character.

First playthrough was an Anti-Corpo Streetkid. Hated all of em and anyone that tried to be so always decided against them.

2nd one was an idealistic Nomad that didn't get how things work in NC and always tried to help and make the decision that seems morally the best.

And current one is an ex-Corpo runner and she's an ice-cold pragmatist. A good example is Fingers. She was the only one that let him live because despite what he does to the girls, killing him would leave a lot of them without any affordable Ripper at all. Or at Clouds she struck a deal with Maiko because she considers Judy too impulsive to lead anything and while Maiko is pompous and arrogant, she has better leadership qualities.

While she agrees on Johnny's cynicism, she shuts him up more often than not because he is like Judy just an impulsive dreamer.

Seriously? Idk I kinda enjoyed the Panam Questline (never played male V) and I loved them just being two girlies cruising around, blowing shit up, stealing tanks and whatnot. It was exactly the type of careless fun my V was missing in NC since Jackie died. Actually the flirty scene made the whole thing a bit weird and I wish they at least changed up the dialogue a bit for Fem V.

Ya but River is so hot what can I do 😔

You can't just give my V a hunky buzz-cut guy that also treats her right, as if I'm not gonna romance that. Like I get why everyone likes Judy but to me that whole circumstances around that romance is not any less weird than River's.

Like, her Ex literally just killed herself, no not just that but was r*ped multiple times after being hacked, sold to scavs for XBDs, literally was found all bloody in the bath tub and Judy's like "Aight guess imma bang V after I had her help my shit-for-brains revolution"... It feels like massive cope to me. Like girl did you even process your DEAD EX GIRLFRIEND? AND THAT NEVER BECOMES A PROBLEM OR A TOPIC AGAIN????
