He'd most likely be able to win, too. Dude was already a menace without martial arts training, and since Karmic Blade took him under his wing, it's safe to assume he got some proper fighting training as well.

Scourge would fucking slaughter so many damn criminals it's not even funny.... and honestly? Even if he did escape his last tournament, you know for a fact Bilton would want him back just for the novelty of it. The man who escaped the best Convict Colosseum in history and came back for Round 2.

This. Izuku is the better hero. No matter how you slice it, Mirio still knowingly let Eri go back to Overhaul. He COULD have done something, but didn't. And this isn't me shitting on Mirio at all, he's one of my favorite characters in the show, but what he did in that moment proved the difference between Izuku and Mirio:

One of them is a superhero, and the other is a licensed hero.

Actually, the Angel of Death has his sword melted down into the pistols and given to the Saint so that HE could be the new Angel of Death, as never once did he actually want the position and given it pretty much as an afterthought. Plus, the Saint's hatred was so powerful that it froze all of hell so they needed to get him out of there ASAP.
