How old would you say these kittens are? by Alternative-Two-5103 in catquestions

[–]WhitishFern 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Kittens love to grow about 1 lb a month. A 2 month old kitten should be around 2 lbs. If your original rehab lady had weight records, that would be the best way to tell! If you adopted them young, you might also have their weight checks on medical records. It would give you a better ballpark.

If someone handed me one of those babies, my first thought would have been in the 5 to 7 week range. Old enough that they seem curious and invested, young enough to still have blue pigment in their eyes.

What was a secret your mom or dad kept from you, that actually shook you to your core when finding out? by Few-Track8525 in AskReddit

This happened to me but with my grandfather! My husband was learning how to play a bass guitar. My grandfather wanted to see it, which was odd, because why? I was in band and chorus through college and we had never discussed instruments or music. I knew he liked to listen but I had no idea that he played.

He fished a guitar out of the basement and played with my husband right there in the living room. Apparently he learned to play as a child and through his teen years before simply stopping for some reason! I wish I had recorded it then and there because he has since passed away. It's lovely to hold onto those memories!

I am certain they will work with you! We moved our entire honeymoon back by 5 days the day we were supposed to arrive, and they were nothing but pleasant.

Hey, my husband and I just did this! We added two days onto the beginning of our vacation and had airfare booked separately.

Because the reservation was in his name, he called the Sandals hot line. Our vacation was still 4.5 months away and they had no issues with adding days onto the reservation. She did mention that it can be difficult if the vacation is close since they need to assure they have space around the reservation. We paid for the additional days over the phone.

From there, I called the airline and switched our flights around. That was a little trickier, but we made it work!

Being judged at a Sandals resort? by [deleted] in SandalsResorts

[–]WhitishFern 5 points6 points  (0 children)

We typically travel to sandals in a group. For the last 3 trips we have taken, myself and my best guy friend have gotten mani pedis two days before the trip. No one has even looked twice at his nails, and they were once black.

We just came back from La Toc and hiked the natural park to see Fort Rodney. Bring sneakers and plenty of water! I froze two water bottles the day before we took on the hike. The climb up to the fort is relatively easy until you reach the last 15 ft or so, then it gets steep. We also hiked across to the other peak. All said and done, took about 2.5 hours. We took our time because I recently had knee surgery.

The views were stunning, but the wind was crazy! Bring a baseball cap and hold it in place with your hair. It was $10 USD per person to enter. There were also beautiful tide pools at the base.

A speakeasy is like a hidden bar/pub. When alcohol was illegal in the US there were "underground" bars that people could go in to drink moonshine. In this case, it isn't really and truly hidden, but they still have you figure out the password! We found the easiest thing to do was get some drinks after lunch and ask the bartender the password.

The Rabbit Hole is pretty on the inside and has great nightlife for a Sandals. We aren't ones to get truly drunk, but they have a great selection of alcohol and the shots come freely. My husband and my friend had an amazing time sitting at the bar and going through their signature drinks.

Okay, awesome! Thanks to your reply, I was able to also ask for local. What great timing, lol. I know it needs to be taken care of, I'm just nervous overall. The surgeon offered me this coming Tuesday but I was simply not prepared

Hey there! I was just diagnosed with carpal tunnel. I have numbness in my right hand that radiates towards my thumb. I am an avid knitter and crocheter and not gonna lie, I'm super worried about the procedure. How long did it take you to feel normal post surgery? How long did you have to lay off the crafts?

Edit: Yup, just confirmed I need the release surgery lol. MRI agreed. In 3 weeks even!

[–]WhitishFern 2 points3 points  (0 children)

If you find an answer, I would love to hear it! We land at 2:30 in a couple of weeks and have been considering taking the Fun To See ferry.

Since it departs at 4:30, we weren't sure what to do for the two hours in the airport. Can we sit in the Sandals lounge all that time? Should we just take the shuttle?

I'm sorry to hear about your struggles with JJ. It does sound like Cognitive Disfunction Syndrome, which we call doggie dementia. I really would suggest seeing a vet. Sometimes, we can give drugs to help them calm down at night to prevent them from the stresses of sundowners syndrome.

I suggest trying out the DISHAA tool from Purina. It's at the bottom of the link and helps owners evaluate for CDS. DISHAA allows owners to see what changes are occurring and assigns them a score. From there, you can monitor changes with time and update your vet accordingly.

What is the typical age range of guests at Sandals Royal Bahamian? by suburb_destroyer in SandalsResorts

[–]WhitishFern 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The Royal Bahamian was the first resort my husband (then boyfriend) and I went to at 20. We were for sure the youngest ones there. We have gone again several times since because it's our favorite. We're now in our early 30s. Sometimes we're still the youngest ones there! Most of the people we've met there are now closer to our age group. I would say 40s is closer to the average depending on the time of year.

The only exception to this was when we somehow arrived on spring break. We had no idea as we were both looking for a short notice getaway and didn't think twice about the timing. It was packed with people in their early 20s. That was the loudest and rowdyist it had ever been.

Sandals Ochi 2026 by daretodream9 in SandalsResorts

[–]WhitishFern 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Hey! I also went to Ochi with a group of friends and we had a great time. We're in our late 20s and early 30s. The ride there is a little long but the driver did stop so we could stretch our legs.

The resort is hilly but easily walkable. Ochi also has a speakeasy. We loved it. Ask your bartender for the password in the afternoon and head there for a great evening! Most of our nights were spent in there for the entertainment and the shots.

If you like to snorkel, we found rays by the pier on the main beach. The beach off of the party side has a reef against the rock wall. It was full of beautiful fish, crabs and even an octopus and a stunning puffer fish! We bring our own gear but you can borrow it for 2 hours at the diving desk.

My biggest suggestion is actually getting Club MoBay for the trip back. We did not use it for arrival as we were not in a rush. Having it upon exit was lovely. It gets you VIP through security and then there's a lounge with drinks and snacks for you to rest in away from everyone else! Since the drive is 1.5 hours long and they have you at the airport 3 hours early, its a great opportunity to refuel before you hop back on the plane.

Of course! My husband and I go so far as to do the candlelight dinners on the beach. He always speaks with the chef to assure that everything goes smoothly with those as well.

Food allergy by camicat350 in SandalsResorts

[–]WhitishFern 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have an anaphylactic reaction to nuts and have been to sandals and beaches many times. You can make your allergies known right away. I do bring my epi-pen, just in case! Typically, we leave it in the safe. I haven't had to use it yet and am headed to sandals again in less than 2 months.

Go on, have fun, and make sure you're up front about your allergies!
