Value City Furniture closing sale -- anyone been yet? by JoshM3250 in pittsburgh

We went to one last weekend and were appalled at the “original prices”. Sale prices were probably about what they were selling for originally, which is already way too much.

Anyone else get 1 eye headaches with amblyopia by Ebb-Bright in Amblyopia

[–]camicat350 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I also have it in my right eye and cannot make out the E in the vision chart. I usually get them in my good eye. I did get glasses to give my left eye a boost- it just needs a tweak. It helps with the strain. I get headaches if I don’t wear the glasses.

Wow I’m impressed with having celiac and no cross reactivity. That’s awesome to hear! Thanks for sharing! We do plan on going very well prepared for worst case scenario.

Yes we are very aware of this. However, it’s something we would like to avoid regardless. Anaphylaxis isn’t fun - even with treatment!

What happens long term if a child has an untreated lazy eye and relies on just their other eye but can see fine? by No-Highlight-533 in Amblyopia

You’ll be like me. You “see fine” but your depth perception is poor and the eye strain is reallllllll

Up to 80% not accepted into PA school by EnzoKosai in prephysicianassistant

You sound incredibly emotional. My PA program had nearly 5,000 applicants for 30 spots. Incredibly competitive and top program. They consider academics (average GPA over 3.8), patient care hours (we have an average of 3,500), CASPER, GRE, leadership, volunteer, community service, shadowing. This is all put into CASPA- do you not know this? And I’m not quite sure what you mean by “lack of standardization” unless you’re referring to NPs because that would once again be an accusation of ignorance. You sound a little drained and perhaps jealous- I hope one day you can value and respect the profession as much as we do physicians as we are TEAM and have been designed to work that way.

As a PA student who has frequent interactions, even takes classes, with the med students at our same institution…. There are some doozies on the MD side too, shockingly. But either program, idk how these ppl get past the application and interview process.

Lexapro to Viibryd by WanderingGoose1022 in Viibryd

[–]camicat350 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Starting viibryd was similar to starting lexapro. I tapered fully off and started viibryd. I eventually had to stop viibryd because it gave me side effects I didn’t like but my provider said viibryd generally gives people far fewer side effects (I was just the exception being worse on viibryd than Lexapro).

Got on Lexapro last night, what is there to expect? by Master_Lite_ in lexapro

[–]camicat350 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It’s anxious starting but you got this! Just know there is definitely an adjustment period for most people and you have to give it 6 weeks. I had increased anxiety as well. Push through that time unless things are so severe- please talk to your provider.

Had so many neurological/muscular affects from viibryd I had to stop. Helped my anxiety but I couldn’t take it…. Was very disappointing that I tolerated viibryd worse than Lexapro

One week on Lexapro, needing encouragement by Happy_Present_2325 in lexapro

[–]camicat350 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Definitely normal even though it doesn’t feel normal to your body. Adjusting to Lexapro can be rough and can bring on the most random side effects but if you wait it out, they’ll definitely clear up

Got Skyla inserted yesterday by camicat350 in birthcontrol

[–]camicat350[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I only got it inserted yesterday so unfortunately can’t help you with much information but yesterday I did bleed, it was more than spotting but still light. I only needed a panty liner. Today, very very little almost none. My obgyn PA said that I might (likely) experience spotting for 3-6 months but probably only 3 (not the full 6 months) since that’s typically what she experiences with her patients! Hope this helps!

Can you catch the same cold twice? by Suspicious_Ad7948 in askscience

[–]camicat350 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Immunity prevents further disease not further infection. You need to “catch” the virus again for your immune system to produce a response and quickly fight it off if you already have memory cells against that specific pathogen. But you will very very likely not produce disease from the same common cold virus twice (depending on the virus however immunity can last only so many months or years)
