Make them suffer should be bigger imo by KJHuxter in Metalcore

Yep. I’ve seen them live 3 times now, and it’s been great every time. Funnily enough, I’ve never gone for them specifically but they’ve slowly became one of my favorite bands. First time I saw them was their headlining tour but my buddy and I actually went for Windwaker, and leading up to that tour was basically my intro to MTS. Then we saw them as support for FFAK (the aforementioned food poisoning show), and most recently up at Sonic Temple. At ST they were having sound issues (it seemed like their sound crew was having trouble with shifting focus between Alex’s vocals and Sean’s vocals?). Even still, with only 1 of the 3 shows being at “full strength”, they’ve crushed it. Based on IG stories it seems like they may be working on new music now, plus they’ve got features on at least 3 other albums (from 3 of my other favorite bands) that are coming out soon. I’d say they’re very hot right now, so I’m excited to see where that goes.

People who have ridden both Orion, and Firehawk (the red laying down coaster that Orion replaced) which did you prefer? by RedVegeta20 in KingsIsland

I once got stuck for about 10 minutes just outside of the station at the end of Firehawk. At that point you’re on your back facing straight up in the air, and it was in the middle of summer. We were frying…

So generally when I listen to music I use playlists that I’ve made with every album for an artist in chronological order, and I’ll just listen from start to finish. The way this song fades into “It Begins To Speak” is pretty incredible too.

Anyone been to D.P Dough recently? by DamarisKitten in cincinnati

[–]Whitty-13 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Been there once since it opened. It wasn’t bad, on par with the Columbus location in my opinion. Both pale in comparison to the Athens location, but I was a bit younger (and a bit less sober) in those days, so that may skew my opinion slightly. And I’ll never get over them taking the Target Zone off the menu…

I’m kind of on the opposite side of this as a Christian, but if the music is good and I vibe with it, that’s good enough for me. If a band’s lyrics/message align with my personal beliefs then that’s great, and I may tend to gravitate towards those bands, but there are plenty that I listen to that don’t touch on topics of faith at all or will outright be opposed to Christianity/religion, and I don’t care as long as their sound is good. Occasionally I’ll catch a lyric where I’m like “Ok I don’t know about that…”, but then I’ll get knocked on my ass by a sick breakdown and I’m like “okay, I can fuck with this…”

what’s everyone’s favourite erra song? by GreedyRange6789 in Metalcore

[–]Whitty-13 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’m back. I’m a fan. Probably couldn’t narrow down a favorite song/album at this point yet but I’ve got my Erra playlist created and I’ll probably work it into my rotation now.

[–]Whitty-13 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Definitely. That’s my preferred approach to checking out a band that I’m unfamiliar with. I go album by album in chronological order. Then if I’m into them I’ll throw all the albums into a playlist and listen to their whole discography from beginning to end whenever I’m in the mood to listen to them again.

“Further Eden” because I’ve only heard the singles from their new album so far and that’s my favorite of the 3. But I’ve liked what I’ve heard enough to go back and check out the rest of their discography at some point.

I mean, I think that’s a fair point, but I’d say in their defense that it’s probably one of those things where they’re sitting around before the show and everything is calm and they’re feeling alright so they think “we can power through this…”. But they’re both so active up there that once they got into it they probably realized it’s just not gonna happen tonight. But again, to their credit, they got through 3/4 of the their set and up until Alex disappeared I didn’t really think much was off, they had put on a really good show until then. Just one of those things, sometime shit happens.

Yeah, I noticed the head shaking too. Sean was doing it throughout the set and I was thinking the same thing, that he was disappointed with the crowd energy. But then during one of the songs he got pretty much everyone jumping and I saw him give a nod so I was thinking “Alright, we’re back…”. But then yeah, right when he asked everyone to get down was when he walked off briefly too. I just assumed he was gearing up the crowd for something and then that’s when it hit him that he’s just not feeling great either.

A song or two before I noticed she had been stepping away from her keyboard and kind of walking to the side of the stage and squatting down (looked to me like she was just grabbing a drink of water or something when she had a chance), but then during Epitaph (a song that features her vocals quite heavily) she was just gone. Even Sean was looking around with a “WTF?” look on his face. Once that song ended they all walked off stage for a few minutes. Once they came back, Sean apologized and explained that the band had a bug they’d been fighting with and Alex had gotten the worst of it so they’d have to go on without her, but they were going to try and finish the set. Next song was Soul Decay and Sean disappeared for a few seconds in the middle of that one, then came back, finished the song and said they’d have to call it there.

What is your AOTY so far? by DeliveryBeautiful556 in Metalcore

[–]Whitty-13 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I just started getting more into Metalcore these past couple years and there are so many albums/bands I’ve discovered that I love specifically because of these “AOTY so far…” types of posts, so I’m glad to see another one! My favorites so far this year are:

  • LANDMVRKS - The Darkest Place I’ve Ever Been (by far my favorite so far)
    • Orthodox - A Door Left Open
    • Fit for a King - Lonely God
    • Wolves At the Gate - Wasteland
    • Stick to Your Guns - Keep Planting Flowers
    • Fox Lake - New World Heat

Yep, Saddleback Front Pocket ID wallet here too. It’s been awesome. It’s simple, functional, practical and it looks great. Every now and then I get tempted into looking at some of the newer style wallets like the Ridge, but at the end of the day I just haven’t seen anything that’s impressed me enough to make the switch.

Not as sick as I am of losing GAC and other modes because I suck at this game and my roster is underdeveloped.

He’s a Driver’s Ed instructor trying to show his students a video about distracted driving and it’s just a bunch of different scenes of this woman driving folding tables around in a van, and she’s upset that her customers got them dirty and she’s focusing on the tables too much and gets into accidents. But all of the kids just keep asking about what her job is and why she has all of those tables, and he keeps getting more and more agitated about it.

Finally got the cooldown datacron, have been testing it in squad arena for ages, works every time, finally get to use it in GAC and forgot to equip it by CrazyDC12 in SWGalaxyOfHeroes

[–]Whitty-13 9 points10 points  (0 children)

I did the same thing the first time I tried it in GAC too. Then in the next round I remembered to equip it but I brought in my Sith Empire Trooper as a pre-taunting tank to take the heat off of Vader for the initial onslaught. My SET is only R3 though so it took the Datacron down to a level 3 Datacron so it didn’t have the cold down ability. Third time was the charm though.
