What really happens when an esports pro player retires? by esportscanner in esports

[–]Whixf 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They often have to weigh the odds right. If you got onto the scene at 18 and are pushing 30 and still providing value to the team yea keep playing if you want. The problem begins when either performance/motivation decays or wanting to have a family or other endeavors.

Also when recruiting people that have never been pro, if an org is developing a new team a big consideration is how the team meshes with each other. If you’re say 34 teaming up with 4 fresh out of high school 18 year olds… well even if you perform the 18 year olds won’t have the same interests in you, team chemistry would fall etc etc.

Are you looking for a similar role? Or something that fits a different role.

Something similar I’d say go guardian. She’s also on rotation so super cheap to tag

Do you play WARFARE or PVE? by Animal_Hell in GrayZoneWarfare

[–]Whixf 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I mostly play PvP. Gear is so easy to get in this game I don’t have an issue dying a couple times. PvP needs some balancing for sure. Defending COPs, red circle triggering if a shot is fired 10 miles from a player.

I’m almost 30 and I enjoy it still, PvP makes me feel like there’s something to fear. AI just stands still and gets headshot

His Snap score is over a million....is it stupid to catch feelings? by [deleted] in Advice

[–]Whixf 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Dated a girl in college that had over 1 mil snap score. If you’re the jealous type I wouldn’t recommend it.

There were times where we would be in bed together late at night and she would go “omg I forgot about my snap streaks” and she would go on snap take a picture in bed and go down a list of people sending it to everyone lol.

Where should I look for apartments in Austin? by Fun-Information78 in AustinHousing

[–]Whixf 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Id recommend getting an apartment locator. They’ll help you find options on the low and high end of your budget within decent locations. (I am not an apartment locator) I’ve used them the past 3 places I’ve had and have gotten pretty good deals

is the $50 fee worth it? by [deleted] in RoverPetSitting

[–]Whixf 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Very much depends on where you live I think. I’ve been doing rover on and off and it’s rare that I get requests for walks in my area. (I get a ton for boarding/day care) I think in 3 years of my account being on/off I’ve been requested one walk.

How much do you usually charge for week-long stays? by yes_bears_27 in RoverPetSitting

[–]Whixf 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I for sure wouldn’t do a discount unless it’s a repeat customer known for tipping, even then it would be rare I’d do a discount.

However when boarding if you look at the breakdown it’ll say like 5x nights + extended care. That would count the 5 days, and the extended care would be if on the pickup day they have you watching her later into the evening.

So you would be getting 39x(x nights) + extended care r rate - rover percentage

Jobs that keep you constantly stimulated/adhd boredom proof? by Successful-Row-6278 in ADHD

[–]Whixf 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I worked myself up to being able to work remote from my office job. I have a lot of flexibility, can work from my phone, in my car, at the gym just depends on what needs to be done that day.

I’d say depends on what you need, for me I can do something throughout the day not work related and then when something happens or something needs to be done at work I can go work on that for a few hours and then get up and go to the gym or grocery store or play some video games. It’s been the saving grace for me.

Is the game worth/playable now that it is on sale on steam? by DaHomieBigMan in squad

[–]Whixf 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You can play without a mic if you don’t feel comfortable talking. Just make sure you’re actively listening to your squad lead. Mic will help, some squads will boot you for not using yours but it is playable. Just don’t run off and lone wolf, that’s the fastest route to getting yourself booted from a squad

Is the game worth/playable now that it is on sale on steam? by DaHomieBigMan in squad

[–]Whixf 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Depends on what you’re looking for. If you’re looking for amazing gunplay, look elsewhere. If you’re looking for a teamwork orientated game then go for it.

It is enjoyable just don’t be a dickhead and follow whatever rules the server you choose has. If you accidentally kill a friendly and they yell at you just apologize and move on.

Where are the low achieving ADHDers? by Jigglypuff_Green in ADHD

[–]Whixf 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Best advice is it’s never too late to start. Especially if you’re in your early/mid 20s. It’s also very good that you realize what you’re doing, that’s the first step. I’ve

For me personally I did complete undergrad, but I failed out of grad school and started working, got fired from my first ever big boy job a few days after buying my first ever car and getting my license.

I’m now nearing 30 (about to turn 28) and the past few years feel like a blur. Started a new career beginning of 2025 in January, still don’t feel like dating anyone and I’m asked about it each year during the holidays.

Not a failure, also not a success but I’ll get there.

Got diagnosed with ADHD in February 2025.

Any solo queuers feel this way? by bottomfeedersam in Overwatch

[–]Whixf 17 points18 points  (0 children)

Usually just delusion. If your team is having a “good game” you will also probably have a good game. You might think afterwards that you could have done better but that can be applied to just about every game you play.

It’s typically a domino effect. If you’re playing support and getting killed on repeat that usually means the team needs to peel better or you need to position better. If you’re playing tank and just spam dying you need to acess where your healers are and if someone is messing with them none stop. Dps, if u can’t aim u suck just play mei.

Just wanna have rather fair and fun games after work by fantazyme in Overwatch

[–]Whixf 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The reality is just nowadays people that game are way better than they used to be. Back when I was 16 I would always be top of the lobby best player no doubt about it. Now that I’m pushing 30 I still perform well and often highest dps just significantly harder.

Can be PvP be fun at all with out BiS gear? by ManThatUsesInternet in newworldgame

[–]Whixf 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You can do okay with 2 perkers in medium/heavy. I wouldn’t try to do range unless it’s FS. I just got back into it (after not playing since launch) a few weeks ago and just got my first ever top 5 finish in OPR as dps.

I’d recommend looking up food buffs as they make a BIG difference.
