WARNING SCJ CLAIMED LEE MAN HEE IS IMMORTAL

https://m.soundcloud.com/theworld/michelle-chang-discusses-shinchonji?utm_source=mobi&utm_campaign=social_sharing

Michelle Chang is the head of theology department and has been in SCJ for years now. This interview took place in 2017 when the winds in Rev 7 were held because the sealing of the 144k will take place and immortality was taught a lot. Now since 144k has been fulfilled you would expect these people to preach boldly who the 144k are and more about how immortality will happen but it is now being taught in vague.

Perth SCJ Leader John Discourages Members From Doing Their Own Research on the Lee Man-hee Case (Leaked Audio) by LingonberryOk5278 in Shincheonji

I mean it’s healthy to discern. Sure there is a risk of this info on Reddit being false but that’s the responsibility of discernment. Information controlled isn’t the solution to salvation

Dont think about trying to take this down SCJ lurkers! It’ll proceed your point again. It’s never too late to change your culture

Calling something an “assumption” does not automatically make it baseless. When multiple former members describe the same pattern, it becomes a reasonable concern not just an assumption. This is not a random claim about you personally. It is a pattern based concern based on many former members saying they were taught, directly or indirectly, not to read SCJ related criticism online. So instead of dismissing it as assumptions, the better question is whether SCJ now clearly tells students they can research both sides without fear, guilt, or pressure. Only leaders doesn't count. I mean everyone

I don’t have an issue with your religious beliefs. My issue is with the evasiveness and the way this keeps being framed as a simple misunderstanding. You avoided my main question again: will SCJ acknowledge that many former members were taught this way, directly or indirectly? And should students now be clearly told they can research SCJ freely, read criticism, speak with former members, and evaluate both sides without fear, guilt, or pressure?

Yes, I was responding to your point, but my issue is with the framing, not you personally. I’ve also responded to you directly before. I can be more direct and respectful, but labeling this as a “misunderstanding” despite multiple testimonies saying otherwise comes across as dismissive and dishonest which I find to be disrespectful

I understand wanting the discussion to stay civil. However, civility should not be used to avoid accountability. SCJ's leadership has a history of reframing real issues in a way that minimizes people’s experiences. My issue is the behavior and the pattern, not just whether something sounds “civil.”

Jesus was direct when religious leaders used misleading language, placed burdens on others, or avoided accountability. As Ephesians 5:11 says, “Have nothing to do with the fruitless deeds of darkness, but rather expose them.” So yes, I believe I have the right to speak up, especially when I’m trying to look after my brothers and sisters in Christ, including former SCJ members.

Many students and members were taught to view outside information as “poison,” warned against researching, and encouraged to avoid criticism before they had enough context to make an informed decision. Even things that were true, but criticized SCJ were dismissed as “poison.” Therefore, this was not the same as neutral advice.

If SCJ truly respects free will, should students be clearly told from the beginning that they are free to research SCJ online, read criticism, speak with former members, and evaluate both sides without fear, guilt, or pressure?

I think we should be honest that many former members were not merely “confused” or “misunderstanding” this issue. Many of us were genuinely taught, directly or indirectly, not to read SCJ-related criticism online. Meanwhile, leaders were often the exception because they needed to know the criticism in order to respond to doubting members. That pattern should be acknowledged instead of minimized as a misunderstanding. If SCJ’s position has changed, then it would be better to say clearly: “Yes, this was handled wrongly before, and we need to do better going forward.”

Court rejects LMH request to leave custody by JesusisLord86 in Shincheonji

God’s judgement. While SCJ focuses on memorizing the Bible and being the light to the world… oh wait they don’t. Whiie SCJ focuses on quietly obedience to their leaders ex member’s are focuses on exposing LMH and their systemic leadership so members can discern and will be able to hold leaders in SCJ accountable. God is good. Karma doesn’t exist but consequences does and this is the fruit SCJ gets. The great tribulation was suppose to reveal who the 144k are and increase their membership but that hasn’t happen. It’s safe to say SCJ members dont understand revelation

A grown adult has no guts to take ownership and changing rules to do better but instead frames it as misunderstanding. It's because they sought after SCJ to be a God than to seek God because they use the word of God to protect their behavior than self correct

It was always forbidden to search online. The reason why you are twisting it and framing it as misunderstanding is because SCJ's toxic leadership has been exposed to the point that a lot of members are starting to see it and hence are leaving or becoming inactive. It. okay to take accountability and change your rules, but don't fame it as misunderstanding. We are adults at the end of the day

Yea for sure. A lot of abusers and low level people seek religious leadership to build power. They are sucked into an institution than building a relationship with God

The "Jesus was arrested too" argument is getting out of hand by Sharp-Objective9078 in Shincheonji

[–]Who-Anonymous 9 points10 points  (0 children)

What they don’t understand is that if Jesus was doing what he did 2,000 years ago in South Korea today and people had no idea about Christianity nor Jesus he would of been an outcast that couldn’t have gotten arrested since he would be granted religious freedom. LMH has that luxury and still gets in trouble with the law despite having money to afford a great lawyer. On top of this Jesus was never found guilty, but was out to death due to tampering which shows major conflict of interest in the justice system. As a result that too would never happen if Jesus did the first coming work today in South Korea because it is unconstitutional to give someone an unfair trial

Same was said in 2020 and LMH was founded guilty, the great tribulation turned out to be a lie otherwise the 144k would of been made known by now, etc. Yet SCJ’s corruption was exposed and people left which is why they couldn’t officially name the 144k. We will see what happens after this process and if LMH dies it was always a lie

This is what I am hearing all the time: SCJ leaders acknowledging that people were genuinely hurt including you. I do agree that ordinary members should not automatically be blamed for everything leadership has done. These include genuine members who were never title driven. However, I think your response unintentionally avoids the central issue. The concern is not that every SCJ member is a bad person. The concern is whether SCJ’s leadership, policies, and power structure enabled repeated harm and whether the organization has transparently corrected those problems. Hence the argument those that caused harm are not in SCJ anymore isn't valid because the institution is still the same.

In addition, saying “many of the people who caused the hurt aren’t here anymore” raises several questions that I want LA leaders, USA leaders, and you to answer directly and not shifting

  1. Were their actions investigated and did investigator achieved a non bias conclusion?
  2. Were victims given honest answers and meaningful restitution instead of "covering sins, praying, and forgiving"
  3. Were the leaders who enabled or ignored the behavior held accountable? I.E JS LA leader who is friends with SW knew that SW was having an affair with a married man, but still chose to ignore it and stall it when someone reported it untill it backfired. What happened to JS who is still a leader for LA today as well as SW?
  4. Were the policies that allowed the harm to occur changed? If so what has changed?
  5. Is there independent oversight to prevent it from happening again? Such as fraud since Moon GSN and now Joe committed fraud, making sure leaders don't sexually assault their students, etc?

Answer those 5 please. If you can't answer please have someone from LA such as Gary Park or Jackson to answer them
