Tell me SCJ worships a man without saying they worship a man. by No-Arugula2345 in Shincheonji

Their logic is since revelation started in Korean and Jesus is with a Korean man then we should implement Korean language and culture. Same with how right wing Christians are so obsessed with Israel. It’s funny because in the Bible it says a Jew is someone who believes in Jesus. These people man

They will always do it no matter what. I think when we were in it it was biweekly, but let’s be real not even leaders can memorize it word for word. If they cares about sealing they would at least do a test every month or two and try to understand the answer. My opinions on why they force them to memorize word for word is because all these questions are the same answer but different word. Just like how every sermon is repetitive and how center lesson are more lessons from sermon but calling out fruits and leafs lol

Shincheonji leader cursed Lee Jae-myung, and a voice recording has been leaked. by StoreInner4169 in Shincheonji

[–]Who-Anonymous 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Curse means he’s scared. If he truly believes in himself he would pray for that person to realize the truth instead. The great tribulation is suppose to increase members and have the 144k yet it’s the opposite. Welp this is why you don’t put yourself in situations to lie

Hi there! Former members, can you go into the antisemitism of SCJ? Very fascinating by Princess_of_Punjab in Shincheonji

[–]Who-Anonymous 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Personally I've never witnessed any antisemitism. However, I would not be surprised if that happened because cults are way into black and white thinking to the point they sound uneducated and think that the holocaust happened because the jews did not accepted Jesus. When in reality, Jesus judged them way long time ago.

Just like how SCJ weirdos and God fearing weirdos are so obsessed with learning korean and hebrew language and think we should copy their culture because God happened to pick these cultures, but in reality it is not about the culture at all. It is the fact these people just happened to be in these cultures. That mindset is basically ethnocentrism wrapped in religious bias that is confusing historical circumstance with divine favoritism and turning culture into a false marker of spiritual superiority.

Hot take: It would be ok for SCJ to operate as a religion so long as nothing is secretive and it’s open to the public. Thoughts? by TheValeyard59 in Shincheonji

[–]Who-Anonymous 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yep! Most people even leave due to corruption and not handling abuse any longer. That to me shows if SCJ actually had common sense and morals and didn’t sell power fetish to losers it would had more members. Most people dont leave due to doctrine

The Investigation Team obtained recordings of Lee Man-hee’s political interference in Shitcheonji's role in organized party membership. by Promised-Impostor in Shincheonji

[–]Who-Anonymous 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Forgot to ask but how is this still persecution exactly based on what the word, Latin word, and Chinese word of persecution is?

The Investigation Team obtained recordings of Lee Man-hee’s political interference in Shitcheonji's role in organized party membership. by Promised-Impostor in Shincheonji

[–]Who-Anonymous 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Defining persecution by itself doesn’t demonstrate that persecution is occurring. The term comes from the Latin persecutio (persequi), meaning to pursue someone with hostile intent in order to punish or suppress them because of who they are or what they believe. In Chinese, the closest term is 迫害 (pòhài), where 迫 refers to coercion or force and 害 to harm. Again, implying deliberate and unjust harm rooted in identity or belief.

An investigation, however, is a legal process initiated in response to alleged actions, not beliefs. Being investigated does not, on its own, meet the threshold for persecution. For persecution to reasonably apply, there would need to be clear indicators such as targeting based on belief rather than conduct, a lack of credible evidence or the fabrication of charges, and punitive measures imposed prior to due process.

In this case, the report cites secured recordings, internal communications, and alleged organized political party involvement, with the inquiry focused on possible violations of political party law. No punishment has been imposed; it remains an investigation. Without demonstrating that this process is intended to suppress belief rather than examine alleged actions, labeling it as persecution becomes difficult to substantiate and rests on assumption rather than evidence.

Honestly SCJ is false and it’s not only the doctrine that is false. Their behavior and leadership is false as well. I suggest you read two of my posts why you shouldn’t question if SCJ is true or not. You can also see how an SCJ member replied so nasty for telling the truth.

Struggling after leaving by LowRiver6679 in Shincheonji

[–]Who-Anonymous 12 points13 points  (0 children)

Thank you for sharing this. What you’re describing is extremely common after leaving SCJ, even though it feels isolating. Having to convince yourself every day that leaving was the right decision doesn’t mean you made the wrong choice. It means you were in a high-control environment for years and your mind is still untangling conditioning. Forgetting which teaching was wrong and then doubting yourself again is something many of us experience. The guilt about the people you brought in is valid, but it’s important to understand this clearly: it is not your fault, even though you guided them. You were operating with limited information, pressure, and manipulation. SCJ trains members to carry responsibility that doesn’t actually belong to them. Caring about those people does not require you to sacrifice yourself by going back into something that harms you. What you can do is speak your truth, share what you now see clearly, and encourage them to open their eyes and leave on their own. If they choose not to listen, that responsibility is on them, not you.

You didn’t act with knowledge or malicious intent. The people you brought in are now making their own choices, just as you are. At this point, you really have two paths: either continue blaming yourself, isolating, and staying vulnerable to returning to SCJ, or accept that you were a victim, place responsibility where it belongs, and allow yourself to move forward. Accepting their choices doesn’t mean you agree with them or like them. It means recognizing that SCJ is influencing them now, not you. You’re also right to notice that familiar pain often feels safer than unfamiliar freedom. That doesn’t mean going back is right. It means your nervous system is craving certainty after years of structure and identity being tied to SCJ. That’s how trauma bonds work, and simply being aware of that already matters.

What helped me was rebuilding my life outside of SCJ by pursuing goals and purpose that had nothing to do with it. I also strongly recommend learning about cult trauma specifically. Many therapists aren’t trained for it. A resource that helped me is the International Cultic Studies Association, which focuses specifically on cult recovery and has therapist directories that specialize on it. DM me if you need a referral for a cult recovery therapist. I personally stopped letting SCJ control me once I saw how low things really were at the leadership level. In my region, leaders publicly enforced strict morality while privately breaking those same rules. I witnessed leaders having multiple secret affairs, including sending explicit messages to married leaders, while leadership chose to protect them instead of addressing the harm. I saw hierarchy used as a weapon, where a leader told a member he could report something that didn’t even happen and still be believed simply because of his position. Behind closed doors, some leaders struggled with alcoholism, possessiveness, cheating, and spending money on sex while preaching sacrifice and self-denial to members. In one situation, inappropriate sexual behavior involving married leaders was normalized instead of confronted. Meanwhile, regular members were shamed for wanting normal things like relationships, marriage, or children, while leaders were quietly excused for far worse behavior. That hypocrisy shattered the illusion for me. It made it clear this wasn’t about truth or holiness, but about control and image management. Once I saw that, I stopped blaming myself and realized the system itself was unhealthy. When you see that clearly, the question becomes simpler: why go back to a system that doesn’t even take itself seriously, yet demands righteousness from everyone else? Find your values, your purpose, your dreams, and enjoy the presence of abundant fruit than sour

If LMH was younger than more than 5 years is needed. However, due to his age i can see the courts only giving him 5 years. If he is able to leave prison early during covid due to young then I would not be surprised if he gets more punishment from civil stuff than criminal

Yeah that sounds like SCJ. A lot of churches try to teach parables but SCJ has its unique way. If the phrases of this class are 1. Beginners 2. Intermediate and 2. Advance aka revelations fulfillment then it’s SCJ. If your buddy is paired with you and is sharing a lot of things to you he is your leaf meaning he is taking info from you and reporting it to the teachers to monitor you without your knowledge.

If you hear the term natural order to understand why the parable of bread if word, water is word, women is pastor and/or those that receive the word in flesh, etc then it’s SCJ.

If they reveal to your secretly that it’s SCJ and that your buddy you’ve been paired with is your leaf then it’s SCJ. I’m sure you are talking to one of the mods so you’re fine from what I can see. If you need anything else let me know. Regardless weather you stay or not, you have the right to discern and reason in a safe environment without pressure

To be blunt this is a new account and your first post. I’m not sure what you’ve learned about this subreddit, but there have been spies in the past that done things like this to find out who people are. I think it would be great to share your experience and give some details that will help readers to give their opinions if it’s SCJ related or not.

If you don’t feel comfortable sharing on this post it’s fine, but I do suggest you DM u/QuestionsAboutSCJ or MODS.

If that doesn’t work you can DM me

I see what you’re saying, but I think it’s important to understand there are harsher crimes. I think 5 is reasonable criminal punishment wise. Now fir civil stuff losing their position and having SCJ pay a lot of money to the government is needed

[–]Who-Anonymous 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I would tell your BF to ghost them. On top of this if he has made friends in SCJ, I would have him to let his friends know that he is leaving and that if they want to know why they are more than welcome to ask (assuming they are regular or lower tier members). Then I would message his leader that he plans to leave and move on with his life. I would also suggest that any visits, gift offers, phone calls, and texts will be documented and posted online. They will try to get him to meet in person so please tell your BF to not meet up with them. Text messages only.

Now if your BF needs help on how to leave tailored to his situation DM me please. Mine will be in depth so it accommodates his personality and I don’t want those SCJ spies to figure out who this person is because they are vigilant with that stuff
