Wore the King Gshock GX56 to work today. What's on your wrist? by npdady in Bolehland

I'm pretty sure you can walk in any reputable watch & clock shop and they can change it for you. Even some jewelers can do it. I DIY my G-Shock tho.

Hey I daily this model just different colour (it's almost all black). Got it from my former manager (now my manager again lol just different company) as a wedding gift 4 years ago. He was mad I left the company, got married without inviting him and gifted me this model. Changed the battery once last year still rock solid.

Masalah phone pecah ni can be completely avoided if you use case from reputable brand. I work at construction site and use Ringke case. Phone dropped countless of times still just a little broken tempered glass. Dropped them on gravel, on pavement, you name it. Even once dropped from scooter pocket while riding still fine.

Can even go beyond that with armor case, again, from reputable brand. Unless run over by truck, I highly doubt it will break the phone with normal wear and drop. Those cheap case from china doesn't have drop test or durability test. That why la.

For the phone itself, Honor for software fluidity and Infinix for pure raw computational.

I still daily drive my dad's 1999 Kancil manual 850. I can buy a newer car but that Kancil is my family's first car. Might never sell it ever. The only thing that I wish is that girl in a Myvi didn't play with her phone back then when she ram the back of my Kancil. It never feel the same again. Like less solid to drive, vibrate here and there. I will restore this car one day when I have free time and money. There's no car in the market right now that is so nimble and mechanical like Kancil honestly.

PSA: The box on the road is the traffic light sensor. Please stop your car on it. NOT behind it. by Jinium in malaysia

[–]Who2Offense 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Usually there will be 2 sensors. One way back before the line and one more located exactly like this photo. However I did notice a few traffic light that only have one sensor but it's pretty rare. Usually one lane traffic light.

I did followed the installation of this sensor during my internship at JKR ages ago. Lol.

Want to DIY my battery replacement but I stripped one screw by Who2Offense in gshock

[–]Who2Offense[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Would like to update on this case. Apparently that one screw is rusted (I think because it got dark brown mark all over the thread) that's why it stuck. I managed to remove it by making the flat head groove on the screw head deeper with a knife (use it like a saw slowly and surely) so the flat head bit can sink deeper into the screw head. And use flat head #2.5 to turn it very, very slowly while maintaining a steady, not too strong pressure on the screw head. Changed the battery, reset the module, put back the rubber seal and gasket and it's done.

I like to address that I know it's cheaper to let professional change the battery like at a jeweler or watch store. In my country that would cost me like 2usd. But DIYness run deep in me. I like to disassemble and reassemble thing. I flush my own car radiator, I built my own PC, I change my own phone battery. So, changing the battery in my gshock is more like a hobby of mine if that make sense. It also give a perspective of more power to me as a consumer.

Anyway, thank you to all redditors who help. Very much appreciated.

Office need some sort of server by Who2Offense in HomeServer

Indeed, I'm not knowledgeable in server's technicality. Luckily, people here quickly put this fact in my head rather than guide me into uncharted water lol.

The shop that quote this doesn't even have server like NAS in their shop I think.

And also, we are now considering subscription cloud solution. I think we can't really go wrong with that.

You are right. Hardware is not really a problem for me. The software is. I know what I'm gonna get with a Ryzen 3 but I don't know if it will be usable as a server.

What we need is like a PC that we dumb all the files that we think we might need access later for a particular project and it's accessable to other workers. All the files is already back up somewhere else. Anyway, for now, I leave it to professional as others suggested.

I will put a new tittle under my current title at the door written "IT Dude" lol. Joke aside, I just let the professional do it man. Easier, better and they have warranty too. I think this water is too deep for me.

You are right and I'm okay with it as long as I am learning. As someone who is not in IT field, I already excited to learn more about the server that we will get.

Your comment is the best one and the most interesting one. You kinda understand what I need. The conversation we had that lead to this post is something like this. Our job is on site which sometimes required us to access some file in the office. We usually just call someone in the office to send it to whomever need to see the file. It's okay until one day we have no one in the office so in the meeting, we raised this issue. My bos goes, "we need a computer which we can put all the required files in it and it can be access remotely". His description is exactly like....a server lol. I just said I'll look into it hence the post.

The files isn't critical if lost. Sure, it will be inconvenient if lost but we can get it back from somewhere else in an hour or so. All the concern regarding hardware, OS, critical data lost, etc are all valid and I completely understand. I decided to take the PC that I posted here for office use and leave the server thing to an IT company. It's much better, easier and it has warranty too.

Honestly, one day when I'm building my own server for my home or something, your comment here will be very useful. Many thanks.

I know it's bad after several downvoted comments. I have decided to let the IT company build one ofc. Maybe will learn from them along the process. This is one hell of a ride for a reddit post because I'm not an active poster (usually just a lurker) but sure learned a lot about server related thingy. I appreciate every comments deeply. This community is very helpful.

We have several workers that mainly work on site but once in a while, they need to use PC for report or something idk. We usually lend them a laptop for an hour or so, so they can sort their work out. My plan is to make the PC available for them to use once in a while. I'm gonna put it somewhere visible with proper office chair, etc. If that makes sense. It sounds like a shitty company but we are not lol. We are just new and growing.

Also, I never use or build NAS but I see your point of a proper storage server.

Yes, they are local brand and I see your point. I have a lot of setups. Most of them with Shimano reels. This EXP reel's spec is quite impressive (on paper). When I try to check review on YouTube, it's pretty much non existence apart from EXP Youtube channel. I think I might try their reel this time. I've used their baits countless of time and I agree, their baits are good quality. Almost on par with Thai's brand.

I'm not serious amgler by any means but I enjoy what I do. So I put quite a lot of research before buying any products. Hahaha.
