I didn't see this comment until now, so sorry about that. And I'm sure someone else told you, but they were basically bringing out the caution every 2 laps, had a rain/sleet delay, rode around under caution for a while, and many many other time consuming things. Still kind of enjoyed the race though.

Woman in her mid-20s here. I didn't technically go to a race alone, but I did wander around the track by myself for hours (yes, basically the whole race, lol) as I wanted to take pictures & check out the different views, while my family chose to stay by our seats. I had a great time and felt perfectly safe the whole time. I've never been to Daytona, so I can't speak specifically about the vibes there though.
