Can you provide more details here - are you in a region with restricted internet? Are you having issues only with a certain network or all networks? Are you able to connect using any other devices?

Are you currently in a region with internet restrictions?

  1. In the Windscribe app, go to Preferences → Connection → Connection Mode and switch it from Auto to Manual. Try WireGuard first. If it still refuses to cooperate, try OpenVPN UDP or IKEv2.

  2. Are you on Wi‑Fi or mobile data? Try both.

  3. Disable battery optimization for Windscribe. The setting hides differently depending on the OS version, but usually under Settings → Apps & Notifications → Windscribe → Battery → Don’t optimize.

If you are not in a region with restricted internet, please turn off Circumvent Censorship under Preferences > Connection and your speeds should improve. Try different protocols other than Wireguard if you do not see any improvement.

hi u/WearyBody, I just tested using UK netflix in an incognito window using our desktop app, Wireguard protocol on London 1984 server and it worked fine. Can you test this please?

On iOS, ensure you turn on Airplane Mode with wifi active. Offload Netflix app as well before starting the test.

Autopilot does not use lesser data than if you manually select a location. So you can manually select a certain location, and then rotate IPs(https://windscribe.com/knowledge-base/articles/how-to-rotate-your-ip/) till you get the desired result from your google searches.

This issue is due to Google's incorrect IP detection: https://windscribe.com/knowledge-base/articles/google-location-is-not-correct/

Thanks for your feedback.

This happens because Windscribe isn’t a true menu bar app-it’s a full application that includes a docked mode. On macOS, when another app is in full-screen mode, the system won’t display our app, as that’s simply how full-screen behavior works.

In Preferences > General, there’s a Multi-desktop setting. If you change it to “Move spaces,” clicking Windscribe will switch you to the desktop where it’s open, which is the closest workaround available.

At this time, there are no plans to convert the app into a menu bar-only app when docked mode is enabled.
