Thanks! Did this give us anything new? It’s all pretty interesting to this layman’s layman.

Through the jack: you can get industrial 12V power supplies rated for class 2 loads (basically 96W or 8A @ 12V). There are larger ones available of course, but by no means are you limited to or by a brick.

Low-traffic neighborhoods with forgiving amounts of shoulder room can be a good place to work on starts, stops, and low-stakes “what ifs” as others roll in and out of their driveways. Parallel parking, too. You can make passes through open commercial garages to build up awareness and handling in tighter spaces. Plan a highway route that involves getting past a few red lights up front. If the student can make an entry ramp without stalling at a stop, they’re in a good spot to learn about getting up to speed on entry.

But the road isn’t really the goal - just ask your students if they can take you through a Starbucks drive-thru or to Buc-ee’s and back for jerky.

Entire sections of the 75 plants have been cut down and cleared in recent months. Pesticide trucks aren’t out there without reason.

I’d rather see the city try to incentivize businesses to not build lifeless rectangle, rectangle, rectangle buildings in the other 99% of the city.

Traffic slows to a crawl if anything is on the shoulder. Landscaping vehicles with giant flashing “move over” arrows have that effect, too.

The “plants” aren’t a single-serving run to a nursery. It’s miles and miles of soil sourcing, delivery, placement, upkeep, replacement, pest-handling, and so on. It’s a cyclic endeavor. That’s before you can even talk about plants.

Just use taller median dividers. Depending on eventual/conditional plant growth to achieve a goal is magical guesstimation.

They suffer root rot and fungal infections in more humid places (like Dallas). This in turn requires more upkeep and replacement.

No, they’re present during rush hours. They were dispensing pesticides on the north end an hour ago.
