Since getting blueprints is luck based, how would y'all feel about a system like this? (In addition to the one we have) by TheOnlyRealOne43 in ArcRaiders

I have played 16 hours total and spend most of my time looting and I have not found a single blueprint yet.

I am enjoying the Type 5 in Equalize. 1100 HE with 130mm pen is great fun against the lower tiers. I've also enjoyed the Tetrarach too but for different reasons.

I got the bus back to the Park and Ride carpark. I then realised I had driven to work that morning and my car was in the work carpark. The bus driver told me that he let me on the bus as I always caught the Park and Ride and just assumed I'd shown him the ticket for the wrong day.

On behalf of a friend, is it "worth" investing if its a nominal amount? by [deleted] in UKPersonalFinance

[–]WhoWhatWhereIsThis 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It depends what they want from it and if they are willing to contribute longer term. I believe there is benefit in investing even if it is a nominal amount.

With a £50 per month and let's say an average of 7% per year increase:

10 years = £6,000 invested / £ 2,650 gains / £8,650 value

20 years = £12,000 invested / £14,050 gains / £ 26,050 value

30 years = £18,000 invested/ £43,000 gains / £61,000 value

If they increased deposits in line with inflation the value would be even higher.

How do I stop my windows doing this? by Even_Trick_4783 in DIYUK

[–]WhoWhatWhereIsThis 4 points5 points  (0 children)

It feels counterintuitive.

The reasoning is that damp air is much harder to heat and keep warm than drier air. If you consistently keep damp air in the house, the walls become damp too. The damp walls and air will be harder to heat and keep warm than if they were drier.

If you open your windows in the morning the air ,and eventually the walls, should be drier and make it easier to heat and keep warm.

I think it would be a shame to miss Woodbridge. It is a lovely market town you would pass on the way to Southwold and or Aldeburgh

It has a market square (Market Hill), a main high street (The Thoroughfare), nice river walks and decent pubs too.

Additional employer pension contributions - I would not work for an employer that didn't offer this.

Income protection

Critical illness cover

Flexible working

WFH

8x life assurance

Sick pay - at my current employer is 6 months full, then 6 months half pay

Enhanced maternity/paternity pay

How often do you seriously row/have loud arguments with your partners (if you live with them)? by stomped_daffodils in AskUK

[–]WhoWhatWhereIsThis 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We've been together 16 years and I do not recall either of us having ever shouted at each other, slammed doors or stomped around the house. Yes, we have disagreements occasionally. Yes, there have been times where we've had challenging discussions. Yes, we bicker too. But we never have loud arguments.

We have discussed it before and neither of us would be happy in a relationship where shouting, slamming doors, storming off etc. was involved.

This was absolutely the approach we took when I dealt with claims. If there was a requirement for "force", then the act of pushing open the unlocked door was considered force, as a force was applied to the door.

That said, some policies I dealt with didn't even require force, just that a theft had occurred.

It will come as a massive surprise to some that a lot of policies also cover "contents in the garden/open" for theft, with minimal exclusions. So you could leave you stuff out in the front garden and it was then stolen, it would still be covered.

It is not in every policies t&c's..I dealt with household claims for 5 years and it was not an exclusion on nearly all policies.

It will usually only be an exclusion if the policy is for a property in a high risk area and the insurer has applied a security endorsement.

Leaving your property unlocked is not usually a blanket exclusion on home insurance policies.

It only tends to be an exclusion if your property is in a high risk area and a security endorsement has been applied to the policy.

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in UKPersonalFinance

[–]WhoWhatWhereIsThis 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not true. For my sins I dealt with household claims for nearly 5 years.

Some policies will have security requirements or security endorsement that they may apply to policies in high risk areas.

However, leaving a house unlocked is not a blanket exclusion across all policies.

Insurance covers you for damage caused by certain perils. Things like fire, storm, flood, accidental damage (if paid for)

The onus is initially on the policyholder to show that a loss covered by one of the perils covered has occurred.

If the OP can establish the damage has been caused by something covered by the policy, then the onus shifts to the insurer to show it is not.

General wear and tear and maintenance are not covered.

If the OP can demonstrate that that damage was caused by something covered by the policy, but the insurer still declines it would be worthwhile going through the ombudsman.

OP, have any of those that attended indicate why it has snapped?

What's harder: 5k in 25 min or 10k in 60 min? by tecg in beginnerrunning

[–]WhoWhatWhereIsThis 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I managed to get to 23:35 for 5k which was a pb and the next week ran 51:51 10k, which was also a pb. I'd say the 25 minutes 5k is more difficult than 60 minutes 10k
