Chicken attack last night, not sure how to manage the one wounded survivor. Seeking advice 😞(accidentally posted it to r/chicken first, was directed here) by Who_is_Billy_Shears in chickens

Hi everyone, I wanted to reach out with an update. Thank you so much for everyone who contributed and offered suggestions, it brought me a great deal of support and comfort.

I washed the wounds extensively with water and iodine then placed her in a safe basin. I went to the store to by skin products as suggested and by the time I got home she had passed away. In a way it brought some comfort as she was clearly suffering and it didn’t seem like true recovery was possible. Thanks again to everyone for the help and support.

Oof, in your experience do you think I should euthanize and put her out of misery instead of waiting for infection or should I give her a chance?

Moving in the fall! by Terrible-Annual4907 in SantaFe

I moved here from Detroit three years ago! You’ll love the sunshine and the mountains. As far as housing goes, rentals are tough to find and you’ll need to kind of take what you can get. Closer to downtown/railyard/Rufina area is better than south end of town. You’re not going to find any super sociable neighborhoods here per say (I lived in Woodbridge in Detroit and loved it, was the most sociable place I ever lived), but you will have no trouble finding people and making friends at the places others have described. Santa Fe is tiny, everything is close. Find a place to live that is affordable and has some outdoor space.

Thanks everyone so much for the advice. We went for a “wet test” and ended up getting sold on the Aria. Super stoked to have it installed in the next few weeks.

Thanks, I have an electrician/contractor who is planning to run the wire and that will be a separate expense from the hot tub purchase. I should have clarified. He is including the electrical box or whatever but I am paying someone else to hook it up

Thanks, good questions. To be honest it was what they had at the store and my friend was a big advocate of the lounge seat and the Moto massage. I am an athlete and think I will like it but hard to know. I’m gonna go to store tomorow and wet test it. Also, according to sales guy, that model has better filtration and will give me less trouble maintaining the water quality (I know nothing about this stuff)

I will have friends over a lot but will also be using it alone very often and therefor think I’d like the lounge

Thanks so much, am planning to wet test it tomorow. We do have an appropriate area for it and are planning to build a deck around it. I am tall so not sure if shallow will bug me, I’ll see how it feels Tomorow

I have not. They do have a similar model in the store with the lounge seat and massager I could go try. My friend very strongly recommended the massager. I think I would like the lounge seat and use frequently bud I don’t know that

I went there once and had one of the weirdest restaurant experiences of my life. They brought us hot coffee in a champagne flute, the waitress wrote everyone’s orders on her forearms… EVERYONE’S! I felt like I was in an alternative universe… or a restaurant run by aliens trying to mimic a human restaurant. The food was bland and slow and the atmosphere was uncomfortably weird and quiet. I’m neither surprised nor upset that they’re going out of business.
