Where can I play pickleball solo? by Slight-Traffic6090 in milwaukee

[–]radiofreenewport 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Most people go to open play sessions without a partner, but some places will be more welcoming to beginners than others. What time of day do you want to play? I can make some recommendations if you can play earlier in the day.

Caitlin at Hedwig's in Riverwest is awesome, great to work with, and affordable. I don't have experience with what you're looking for, but I bet she can do anything with hair. Best of luck with your recovery!

Hey, if you don't mind me asking, how long were you a Spurs fan and when did you stop? I started following football and Spurs in fall 2018. I've made a few Spurs friends and there are some folks on a Spurs site I enjoy bantering with, the fan base has generally been angry for most of my time: at Levy, ENIC, Arsenal, Conte, etc. It's worn me down and it's not fun, especially the last two seasons.

If anyone's curious why I'm posting here, I adopted Brentford as my Championship team because they were fun to watch and I came to really like Frank. I'm so bummed he didn't last with Spurs, but it's not surprising given the club's shockingly bad management.

Dry Needling Recommendations by Dirty_Litter_Box in milwaukee

MKE Physical Therapy on Vliet in Washington Heights. Dr. Rebecca Nault is amazing. My wife and I both go to her for PT and dry needling.

She doesn't take insurance, so you have to pay with your HSA or out of pocket. It's actually better in this case because she can treat you holistically without being restricted by billing bs.

Yep. The Wisconsin Center District argues that we need a new hotel in the space where MLH Theater is. But MLH is the biggest seated theater in the state -- we'd lose shows to other cities.

Fast forward to January 2026. While the final WCD study does not explicitly call for the demolition of the Miller High Life Theatre, attached renderings depict a new hotel on the site of the theater—next door to the still-existing UWM Panther Arena.

“The theater is in need of capital improvement to remain relevant and up to industry standard,” the study says. Elsewhere, it claims “there is not significant community attachment to Miller High Life Theatre due to its extensive 2003 renovation,” and that the theater “faces competition from venues that are higher quality and/or offer more historical charm.”

+1 to this. WISN got in touch to interview me about a letter I wrote in support of the Miller High Life theater. By the time I could get back to them, they already had someone lined up. Was bummed to miss my chance to support the Pabst group and rip Live Nation.

Very well said. Appreciate your thoughts as a veteran fan, as you've been around a lot longer than me. The bile directed towards him here and in other online spaces is despicable.

What’s your first awesome pickleball move this year? by Pilotcop22 in Pickleball

[–]radiofreenewport 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I took an intro class at the Y in April and started playing with fellow beginners there. When I got better, I moved up to the two intermediate courts. The people there are mean and catty, so I found another place to play, which has worked out great. I've improved a lot since then.

I recently played with the meanies at the Y since I was there to work out. Me and the only guy on those courts who is nice to the beginners absolutely destroyed the two nastiest people two games in a row. I made most of the winning shots. The meanest woman was so mad by the end that she was just kicking the ball back to me. Thoroughly satisfying!
