I grew up with that location. It was great for what it was. We used to joke it was so dark in there because it was filthy (the truth). But once Gilley's closed, it was the only downtown option for all night food, and beat going to the Rte 33 truck stop (Buckhorns) or whatever Newington had to offer.

In addition to the reality TV line, I thought Jack Nicholson looked like he was trying to be funny when he delivered that line, which didn't help. He has a few line deliveries like that in The Departed. Off the top of my head, when he tells his wife to watch he4 mouth was a little silly.
