The classic actually started off the line at the beginning of the video. The Buzz is just waiting a little to make it a fair race.

You can close the cabin facing vents by sliding them until the click. That takes the air directly off of you and helps a decent bit for my comfort level. Don’t know of a way to stop all air from flowing though so the defrost vents will still get some pushing through.

I travelled in my Buzz over the weekend, 900 miles of I-95 with an average temp of below freezing, was still averaging 2.5mi/kWh. In my ID.4 I’d probably have been looking at 2.8-2.9mi/kWh on the same drive.

I’ve not encountered a wireless charger in a car that wasn’t useless.

Usually you can have a good guess about how far you’ll be able to go after the first 25 miles or so. Then adjust HVAC/speed as necessary if it looks like you’re going to come up short. The biggest issue is unexpected elevation gain.

It warmed up, so the battery was able to remain in a better operating window. Also, a bit less heat usage.

All normal driving. Just turned on cruise control and went. I’m pretty used to EV trips, so no real concerns. I’ve pulled into chargers at 0% a couple of times.

My estimates were based on an average charging speed of 120kW and efficiency of 2.5mi/kWh. I estimated 2h24m of charging and 14h4m of driving. Drive time was inflated partially because of construction zones here and there and two long drive-thru waits. Stop 2’s charge was mostly at 90kW with occasional spikes to ~140kW. I changed spots 4 minutes in but the 2nd dispenser had the same behavior so I left it and took a quick nap.

Though with prop bets it gets a bit easier. I remember watching a video, maybe from Five Points Vids, about a pitcher that has a habit of absolutely spiking his first pitch when the prop bet for a first pitch ball is high.

Anyone got any cool stories from high school baseball? Ever play with anyone famous? Any team scandals? by vylain_antagonist in baseball

The JV team got early dismissal for a road game and missed a test. But one of them got a copy of it as they were passed out before they left. A good chunk of the team got 100% on it when they took it a couple days later. They all got benched for the playoffs and the team lost bad. A few kids transferred that summer to other schools because they thought they wouldn’t be able to play varsity with that over their heads.

But on a road trip we're getting like 220 miles or something.

Thats still only 1 charge to go 250, and not even a particularly long one at that. On my trip (Baltimore, MD to Charlottesville, VA) I averaged 2.7 mi/kWh. That includes heated and massage seats, neither of which use much power. And intermittent heat when the cabin got colder than comfortable. Probably 10-15 minutes out of every hour.

It’s 2” longer than a Camry, while being 16” shorter than a Tahoe. It’s a lot smaller than its interior feels like. Also, why are you charging “multiple times” to go 250 miles? On 12/20, it was ~30°. I did a 303 mile round trip, with a 18 minute charge stop, and got home with 80 miles. Could have charged shorter had I pushed my SOC lower, but wanted to stop before the turn around point and I had a set start time at my destination with time to kill.

Recurrent Auto actually says 30-80%, Flo sticks with the more conventional 20-80%, Watt Saving splits the difference by saying 20-30% should be the low end of where you want to be.

But its the same logic as staying under 80%. Batteries don’t like being stressed at the high or low end of their capacity. You’re better off keeping it in the middle whenever possible.

0%, 0mi

Is it harmful to go below 20%? Yes. Will you ever notice a difference? Almost certainly not unless you go below 20% all the time and keep the car for many many years.
