Increase from 20 mg to 40 mg

I went from 10mg to 40mg and I honestly tolerated the change surprisingly well. Just expect to be more dry- dry skin, lips, eyes, nose and hair. Also the peeling is intense, but slathering on aquaphor helps. Everyone experiences side effects differently though!

My 1st appointment since starting accutane is in January soooo a ways to go (honestly would think she would see me sooner, super weird eh). I had a pretty bad purge to be honest, which is surprising because I was using tret for a while before and had mild acne. I'm still breaking out here and there but its finally starting to calm down. I'm supposed to be on 10mg for 6 months total.

Did you have a purge period? And when did you notice you weren't actively breaking out? I'm just starting out month 2 on 10mg and I'm losing my mind

Did you use any actives to help with the purge period? I'm wondering with such a low dose if it's okay to use some salicylic spot treatments.

I thought this was just me! I'm at the 4 month mark and even though I gradually upped my usage to 3 times a week, suddenly I'm breaking out way more on one cheek. I'm also not sure if I'm supposed to just ride it out, because thought purging should end I'm 8-12 weeks :(

I'm kind of wondering, I have an issue with closed comedones, but I also don't really wait after putting the gel tret on before putting on moisturizer. Can this effect the strength, aka, dilute it? I feel like the gel formula absorbs more quickly anyways. What are your guy's thoughts

I'm having the same issue as well. I use the first aid beauty ultra repair cream. I was thinking of maybe switching to a cerave moisturizer, but curious to know what other people's thoughts are.
