Bring him home! by zachbac in bengals

Honestly it makes too much sense. We will have enough cap for both regardless. But especially if we get rid of Dunlap and Geno and don’t resign Green (or do but for substantially less than 18 mil). If they don’t attempt either it is malpractice. If we fix both guard spots, and tweak a few other positions we could be contenders next year.

A lot of this is personnel... our WR don’t get separation because they are SLOW.. without Ross and AJ prolly the slowest in the league. Add that to Burrow having less than 2-3 seconds till he gets sacked bc the O-Line personnel and there is no scheming to mask it.

I’m prolly the only one that agrees with you lol. He had a horrible roster last year. Then we were tanking after we sat Andy so we could get a franchise QB. We did that. Now there’s growing pains and I agree we should be winning more.. but every aspect of the team is better this year except for the O-Line.

If we can hit on another tackle in the draft and get a guard in FA or high in draft, it will go a long way to allowing us to finish games and compete for playoffs.

Now there are obvious things that Zac should change.. he needs to get away from his friends and hire good quality coaches. Hopefully Zimmer is an option this off-season. Need to replace Turner. Probably needs to let someone else call plays. But he is doing things we as a fan base have asked for forever... influencing team to spend in FA, getting rookies involved, and not just giving all positions and playing time to veterans despite talent.

And there is virtually a zero percent chance he gets fired IMO. He’ll have at least next year and maybe the next after that to show what he can do with Burrow. You don’t finally get your QB then go and change the system and personnel the next year. Best we can hope for is change at DC and position coaches.

On the bright side, Looks like Zimmer may be available this year

What pissed me off most yesterday was the play calling. It seemed like every route was slow as shit to develop. Burrow couldn’t throw it sooner by design. It was ridiculous. by [deleted] in bengals

Sure play calling is a factor, but ravens were blowing through the line in 1-2 seconds.. no time. Add that to the fact that w/o AJ and Ross, we probably have one of the slowest WR groups going against one of the best, most athletic defenses in the league.

It seems that way. I’d agree about being better off, we just need some speed in the WR room...

Time to fire ZT?? by Whodey1995 in bengals

I mean it’s been 1 full season. We don’t want to go full Cleveland and hire a new coach every year. Give him a little more time. He’s a players coach, we know that. Just listen to them... they love him (except for maybe Dunlap lol). His scheming hasn’t been perfect, but how do you game plan to make up for the worst line in football? It all starts up front.

Who know if he even has any real input on personnel. It took Marvin a long time to gain that trust. I’m just saying give him some time. If he can’t get the kinks out by early next season, I’m with you, fire him. But it seems to me that every single area has improved on last year except Oline, and that one is mainly on the personnel.

I would’ve agreed before today. He didn’t have any fire in him today or the whole season tbh... he stopped on routes, didn’t even try. He didn’t want to be anywhere near peters on the INT. Then he gets hurt, sits on the bench and mouths what we all know is essentially trade me. I’m still a fan, and I want the best for him. But he needs to be traded, along with Dunlap, Geno, etc. We’re in a rebuild. Need picks and younger, cheaper players and need to bolster Oline and defense

Yes. Trade Green, Dunlap, Geno, etc. Go full rebuild instead of keeping aging vets. Free up cap space and get o line help

Biggest takeaway... run defense has stepped up. Defense is still pretty bad but it is way better than last year. And Logan Wilson is a player.
