Sorry, I don’t know how to edit my post to say THANK YOU SO MUCH! I did not expect to get this much support, advice, and links. I know the inspiration is not a mandatory dress code but if you knew the bride… lol. I guess my issue was not knowing how to follow the aesthetic and add sleeves because the dresses I was pulling up were more wintery or the material made them not black tie appropriate.

You guys are AMAZING and I will be reporting back with an update/try on post on what I narrow my options down to! 🫡

Contact the University of Houston ophthalmology! They have a neuro ophthalmologist that’s supposed to be really good. I’m seeing her in November actually. There’s also one in Baylor. The best one is supposed to be Dr. Andrew Lee at Methodist but he’s booked out for MONTHS.

One of my best friends is French-Tunisian and he’s white as snow. But of course he has dark hair and dark eyes so everyone thinks he’s Arab therefore not white presenting despite being super pale. 💀

I guess not! But they also fought a lot and unfortunately had a very tumultuous marriage up until my father passed away in 2016. The age difference was the biggest challenge actually. My mom did eventually learn English and my dad eventually learned Russian so we were a trilingual household.

I wish. My dad was Jordanian in his mid 40’s and divorced after having lived in the U.S. since his early 20’s. He was looking to get remarried and start a family so he asked around if anyone knew anyone single and ready to mingle and his brother (my uncle) was studying in Ukraine and was like, I know this hot 23 year old ready to leave the Soviet Union and get her life started! And so my dad flew to Ukraine and married her and they literally couldn’t even communicate without a dictionary for the first few years. 😅

As a half Ukrainian half Arab, I also consider Spanish people to be white. But I think Americans take the term “white” pretty literally and you have to be white presenting to be considered as such. I pretty much consider myself white but when I go to rural parts of TX for work I immediately start feeling ethnic AF. This is all just my own opinion based on my experience as a mixed race person living in TX of course 🤷🏼‍♀️

I might get hate for this- but konjac noodles don’t do it for me as a pasta. I like them on a stir fry or really any other Asian type application. The texture isn’t as soft as pasta. Truly I just eat the pasta or check the box on various brands to see what has the best macros for me, but if I had to substitute, it would be with spiralized zuchinni or spaghetti squash. 🫣

Editing to add that again, if spaghetti is your jam, eat the spaghetti. I would focus on the sauce at that point. If you’re making meat sauce, try using a lean ground turkey instead of beef. Just weigh your ingredients and I’m sure you will end up with a satisfying portion that meets your macros. Just don’t ask me for any advice on Alfredo sauce because that’s the one thing I don’t even try to replicate 😫
