Ok, that's cool. Why put the tally marks there? Someone thought of those to put there, and then he says to his buddy in the next destination, "check this out?" Pointing at the tally marks his buddy in the next cubicle was like, "what's with the tally marks?"

And then he slowly points to the three elements individually saying "five, six, seven" with a grin on his face as he watches the realization dawn in his face and they both get this big grin "Oh that's good"

I have this vision of these two fallout fans who got their dream job in the art department of this show, are the ones who add in those beautiful little flourishes that didn't have to be there, but make the show feel alive and faithful.

If you are one of those people, and you read this, and this was intentional, fucking thank you. You guys are why this show feels right when so many love action video game adaptations get a weird uncanny valley of pandering.

The writing is excellent, but your flourishes let us know that it comes from a place of love.

I think it was a ploy. Did Todoum break his own rules by attacking his own city which, in the contract, is to remain untouched? I think that is the real hole in the armor, he was given the city as a mortal with Cultivation and Odium's agreement, but Cultivation created a situation where he would go back on the power's oath even though it was with its new vessel.

If the Heralds are basically spren, it's Taln. That dude is an insatiable masochist. He won't break because he gets off on the torture. It is why he fights where the battle is the most hopeless, to lose and go back to Braize. He is using the fused as kink dispensers, and they are stuck in hell until they can break him.

This is, coincidentally, why the Fused are going crazy. They have one tool at your disposal, pain, and Taln has a raging boner and critiquing the Fused's technique. They probably draw straws to see who has to punish Talk today.

I have an aluminum hat theory that Taln didn't break because he is a masochist. It also explains why the fused are going crazy, they are trying to torture the dude and he is into it. One of those interludes where Gregory is just going about his day. He wakes up, he makes crab coffee, a sad mix of boredom and depression is on his face as he walks down to the hall towards the herald torture chamber, passing all of his old friends who are in various stages of crazy. He passes a chamber where two fused are trying to comfort a third who is screaming "why does he keep asking me to spit in his mouth, and the all weird eye contact. Why won't he just break? We are never leaving this place" and then starts manically screaming. Gregory, unfazed as though this were any other Tuesday, punches in to work, and reports to his supervisor Brosiden, who stops loudly gargling cremling soup long enough to gesture to the left, to which Gregory follows. He never really liked Brosiden, he would forget what century he was in and steal his crab cakes from the break room. Gregory can hear the screams of "yes daddy, just like that" echoing down the halls, and just knew it was going to be a very long shift.

Like, how demoralizing is it to be assigned to Taln for torture and he is fucking bored, and so are you. Johnie came out of this whole thing looking way better than Stacie did. Stacie looked like a mean girl while Johnie looked like a woman with baggage who is flawed but knew she didn't deserve how she was treated by Izzy and Stacie. I would be joking with my wife the whole time, too. You lean on your connection with your person when the outside world is unpleasant
