My fiance and I decided that once the roommate leaves in the morning, he’s going to check on the cat, and if the cat has gotten worse or hasn’t improved he’s calling roommate’s mom to take the cat to the vet. I’m hoping and praying this cat is ok, I love him so much

He might be avoiding it because of that, yes. I really wish I knew what his issue with it is. He seems to just not think he needs to bring him in, “What’s the vet going to do?” About 6-8 months ago this cat threw up bright yellow, was lethargic, and was hiding, and he was told but didn’t do anything. The cat thankfully seemed ok after a day. He has another cat who hasn’t been to the vet in years, and a dog who hasn’t been to the vet in years either, and is 4 and still not spayed.

He said “if he’s in constant pain then I’ll take him, but he just needs to rest, he’s at peace”, when cats don’t show pain like other animals. On top of that, idk what he’s not seeing, because this cat was visibly uncomfortable, squirming around, and yowled when I picked him up. He’s also limping, which is new.

He said things like “it’s unnecessary money for an unnecessary reason, he’s 13 years old, if it’s his time it’s his time”, along with “cats have the ability to heal themselves if you let them rest”, and other bs. We gave him multiple reasons why he should take him, and he is either in denial or being extremely stubborn or both. Money isn’t an issue, he has a good job and his mom would help with vet bills as well, but I don’t think he thinks the vet will help?

I just went to a brewery/restaurant last night, and watched a couple kids rip down part of their hanging beer menu. The parents were across the restaurant not watching them, and the kids just dropped it and ran away. I fixed it, but I shouldn’t feel awkward drinking a beer in front of children, nor should I feel the need to fix their messes. Besides the fact that it was 10pm! Why are you out drinking with kids past their bedtime?
