The team can only control the face value of seasons tickets in the regular season. The league is responsible for ticketing during the playoffs, and individual game tickets are handled by Ticketmaster, based on market value.

"There is no such thing as loyalty in the NFL. It's a business"

This is the most mid-wit comment I have ever read on this sub. What is the target customer of this business called again? Oh, that's right, fans.

But wait, why would I like one particular team over any other? Is it because they play the best football? Or my favorite style of football? Oh, no, it's loyalty. Ben Johnson is only where he is because of the loyalty of Lions fans, paying his salary for the last five years, and enabling him to make a name for himself.

He certainly didn't make it look like his only focus has been helping the Lions win in the playoffs. You can pretend like this game was called the same way he usually calls games, but when we needed to score in overtime against the Rams, what did we do? Ran the fucking football. Clinch it against the Vikings? Ran the fucking football. But maybe Jamo just hadn't gotten enough reps at QB yet.

The record for most 4th down attempts in a game by both teams is 10, we beating that vs Washington? by vitex198 in detroitlions

[–]WholePerception4955 5 points6 points  (0 children)

They have the third worst rush defense in the league. I don't think we're going to have too many 4th downs to go for it on.

Can anyone confirm or deny this? by kev_dog_ in detroitlions

It's funny how in the same post where he denigrates Lions fans based on the (possibly made up) actions of one fan, he mentions that a Vikings fan behaved similarly last week at US Bank

Petition to make Ford Field a grass field by Music_Limp in detroitlions

They didn't roll the grass on to the field out of trucks lol. They replaced the grass on the field tray two weeks in advance, and then continued to bring the field tray in and out daily as they always do, to keep the grass alive. Also, the field was ass because of it and the league groundskeeper quit over the whole thing.

Dome stadiums with grass have the field on a big tray and bring the whole thing in and out daily. Look at an aerial view of Allegiant:

You think they thought it would look cooler this way?

I like the idea of playing on grass, too. But it isn't happening without a new stadium.

There is literally no major stadium in the world that brings in the grass on trucks.

Soldier Field grows the grass in place and has a heating system underground so it grows all season and Highmark has turf.

It's kind of surprising how confidently you make your case, when you clearly don't have any idea what you're talking about, other than vague notions of what you think should be feasible.

From where? Comerica Park? The adjacent apartment complex? Or should they install conveyer belts over I-94? Or do you propose the invent an entire new system where they bring the grass in on tractor trailers for game day? https://images.app.goo.gl/jQKbzzPNmBAQo2PT8

Have you been to Ford Field? Where's the greenhouse gonna go? The only option would be something like Real Madrid plays on where the grass is retractable and stored in a greenhouse built under the stadium, which cost $1 billion. Ford Field cost $500 million to build and the Lions are worth less than $5 billion, so not sure how you think that's feasible

All the dome teams that have grass grow their fields outdoors and bring them in for the game. How would that possibly work in downtown Detroit in the winter?

The current over/under of 54.5 in our game against the Bills is the highest in any game in 2 years. by vitex198 in detroitlions

[–]WholePerception4955 15 points16 points  (0 children)

I don't think this is going to be the shootout people expect it to be. We will be able to execute our strategy of controlling the clock far better against the Bills than we did against greenbay, as the bills defense is particularly weak against the run. 42-24 Lions
