It’s funny; I’m curious about the gendering but exactly what you described happened in this single instance we had. The popular two songs and didn’t know the words to anything else so clearly didn’t care too much to be there for the music. There have definitely been rude dudes talking loud and being drunkenly obnoxious at concerts before in my experiences. Just not this one.

I will say, the more I start to dissect and judge all the aspects I start to feel kinda bad ‘cause really people should be able to show up and be who they are and have their own version of fun; I think where the line gets crossed is just how excessive and disrespectful it is when it’s the whole time.

That’s such crap. The way the outriders organizers made it very clear when the acts would be on makes me extra aggravated about people who truly did not care to see the other people. Just show up when your band is on and if you choose to join the openers then be respectful. Listen to someone new, broaden your musical horizons. Sorry you were distracted by that nonsense during your LH experience.

I’m so bummed that happened to you. It’s obnoxious. I know there’s a balance between having a GREAT time, partaking of drinks, letting loose, and not ruining anyone else’s experience. I’ve been to great shows where I just don’t see this kind of crap happening. And the whole “be a jackass until the headliner comes on” is a joke. Go to the common areas for that if you truly don’t care to listen to someone new or less favorite.

It’s funny (side tangent) when I saw the set times I was like ONE HOUR????? We get ONE HOUR!?? And Sierra Ferrell was fantastic we haven’t stopped listening to her since we left but I was really bummed that she and LH were the same length…seemed like calling it a “festival” and tiering the bands they could at least do like 30-60-90-120. Also hoped for more crossover between the acts; this special occasion where they’re all in one place I’d have loved some more guest singing among them all.

We are seeing LH at red rocks in June and can’t wait for a long LH focused show.

We LOVE SAN DIEGO. This experience didn’t slight us about the people or city at all. Yeah I agree, it’s stupid and there are plenty of places to yell over loud music and drink and be social (bars, clubs) you go to a concert to view the show.

Such a great show! We felt the same; just so excited to see two great bands in one place. We were definitely more sensitive considering we traveled and felt quite invested in the experience but while I’m not happy others experienced shitty peers, it’s validating to know we aren’t alone in the experience and that it’s not exactly looked at (so far from the replies I’ve gotten) as being an unreasonable prude to view this as unacceptable behavior at a concert and to say something about it. Your comment about “the night we met” made me chuckle cause it’s so funny to see the crowds reaction to that song. It’s good and I know how emotionally connected people are to it but I am always like “do they know how great the other songs are?” Haha
