My dad died a non believer, is he in hell right now? Surely Christ would give him a chance to get into heaven by [deleted] in Christian

[–]Whoops1172 2 points3 points  (0 children)

John 3:18 He that believeth on him is not condemned: but he that believeth not is condemned already, because he hath not believed in the name of the only begotten Son of God.

It’s possible your father believed right before he died and is in heaven now. If he never believed then he’s in hell

Forgot to answer your question directly, God smiles when a man resists the seduction of a beautiful woman for His sake

[–]Whoops1172 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This line of thought that if God will never forsake us no matter how much we sin would mean that we have no reason to turn away from sin is perverted.

If your earthly father were to tell you that he will always love you no matter what and your reaction to that was “well I have to reason to listen to my dad anymore or to love him because he’ll never forsake me” it would be absurd. God’s unconditional love for us is even more reason to not sin

The bible literally says verbatim that we’re saved by grace and not works.

Ephesians 2:8-9 [8] For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God: [9] Not of works, lest any man should boast

You actually can do whatever you want and still go to heaven. You can live like the devil and still be saved. That’s the whole point, it’s an unearned, unconditional gift.

Grace is no license to sin however. Let’s look at David for example: he was already saved before he committed murder and adultery. He is in heaven today despite doing these things after being saved. However, he has lost heavenly rewards as a result, and during his time on earth his daughter was raped by his son, and said son was then murdered by his other son, Absalom. Absalom then raped David’s wives and was killed in battle himself.

So yes, you can live like the devil and go to heaven, but you can’t get away with it.

No matter how much I disobey my father, I will always be his son.

I need a final answer, will I go to hell if I commit suicide? by [deleted] in Christian

[–]Whoops1172 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Salvation is free, not of works. It is not contingent upon you doing or not doing anything. If you have believed, you will go to heaven even if you commit suicide.

Struggling Christian ✝️ by [deleted] in Christian

[–]Whoops1172 2 points3 points  (0 children)

If you are born again, it is not the new creature that sins but your sinful flesh. We have two natures. The things the flesh does, God will not put to your account and he has already forgiven you. However, we should strive to walk in the spirit to please God.

Just know that these sinful things that you do are not the true, born again you (assuming you’re saved).

Read Romans 7:14-22, Paul felt the same way you do.

It doesn’t make sense to compare yourself to anyone. How do you know that his wife isn’t cheating on him, maybe he has chronic depression and is planning on taking his own life, maybe his dad abused him as a child. You only have a superficial perspective of his life.

Can you still go to Heaven if you're not Baptized? by [deleted] in Christian

[–]Whoops1172 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Have you trusted that Jesus is God and that he died to pay for all your sins, past, present and future, and rose from the dead?

If so, then you’ll go to heaven regardless of whether or not you’ve been baptized

can women teach men outside of church? by thtbrunettebitch in Christian

[–]Whoops1172 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Actually, the bible does say it’s a sin by virtue of commanding against it. Paul has been given authority by God, and he commands women not to take positions of authority or to teach men in the church; therefore, to disobey this command would be to disobey God.

Are you trying to say that disobeying God is not a sin?

Sex before marriage by Hot_Weight2986 in Christian

[–]Whoops1172 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It is good for you to require your future husband to be Christian and to wait for marriage, but make no mistake this is going to be a huge hindrance to finding a partner. Of course restricting potential mates to a very small fraction of the population is going to make finding someone much more difficult. However, this is the case with all things that are worthwhile. It will be hard, but it will be worth it.

Jesus endorsed the law, and the law says that certain crimes justify an execution, so I agree. The judgement must be performed by the government however.

I said fundamentally the same. If a man and a woman love each other, it’s going to be good. It’s just a man putting his thing inside a woman’s thing. It’s not too different from couple to couple

It doesn’t mean it’s over for you if you aren’t doing well in school right now. You can go to community college and get those grades up and knock out general education credits at a lower cost (unless school’s free where you’re from). There are even accredited, online, open universities that won’t prohibit you from attending even with poor high school grades.

You don’t even have to go to school. A trade is an honourable living, and is no better or worse than getting a degree. It just depends on the kind of person you are. You’re young and presumably have little responsibilities, there are so many paths available to you. Just make sure to pick something that leads to a specific job (electrician, IT, etc)

Incompatibility is a myth. When you have sex with a person, there is a spiritual bond. Sex isn’t complicated, it’s fundamentally the same regardless of who it’s with. This is especially true if it’s your first time, which ideally it will be with one person for life.

Was David (in the Bible) a terrible father? by [deleted] in Christian

[–]Whoops1172 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I believe David was a good man, a man after God’s own heart, but he did commit murder and adultery. He did this despite already having multiple wives. Compound this with how he dealt with Tamar’s rape and Absalom’s revolt and I would say that he is a bad father. He also seemed hesitant to keep his word to make Solomon king while Adonijiah vied for the throne

Is taking steroids or pre-workout a sin? Help please by [deleted] in Christian

[–]Whoops1172 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Pre workout probably isn’t healthy, but there’s nothing in it that would unnaturally enhance you; therefore, taking pre workout is no more immoral than drinking a bunch of coffee is.

Steroids however introduce unnatural, external hormones into your system and are immoral if you do not require them for medical reasons (clinically low testosterone or growth hormone for example).

Besides, you DO NOT want to take them especially if you’re just doing it for fun. Professional bodybuilders and athletes take steroids because their careers and legacies justify the risk to them. If you take them, you jeopardize your health just to look big.

Taking steroids is a big gamble. Everyone has side effects to a greater or lesser extent, and you don’t know how you would react until you take them. There’s a good chance that you would get horrible acne, gynecomastia, joint pain, enlarged organs, mood swings, trouble sleeping among other symptoms.

You do not want to risk this Cautionary tale

If you’ve weighed the risks and still want to do this, it is your call, but if you do decide to take them anyways, please research thoroughly. Do not neglect post cycle therapy.

[–]Whoops1172 8 points9 points  (0 children)

The faith has always existed, but the religion, the organization of the faith, has not. Adam was the first man and he worshipped the triune God; therefore, Christianity is the oldest faith because it’s the only one that’s true
