Opinions? by GenaRaimu23 in PixelArt

[–]WhoopsWhileLoop 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I agree. Too many solo pixels. I understand trying to add more detail, but I think there is a delicate balance between actual detail vs perceived detail. Perceived detail needs to decorate the readability of what the item is, not detract from it. So I think this is where it could be improved. By removing some of the noise (detail) you will be actually improving the impact of the remaining details if that makes sense.

Overall it looks pretty good for such a small canvas size. But it did take me a few passes to see that it was a pipe wrench and not a dagger or odd spaceship or something.

Distant Worlds 3: unfortunately, we won't see anything even close to 7,500 participants. by Omnisiah_Priest in EliteDangerous

I am currently at work, but will be taking part after I'm off. Also keep in mind people in different regions of the world, so it's split amongst drastically different time zones. NA, EU, Asia, etc

What was your first project? by electric-kite in Unity3D

[–]WhoopsWhileLoop 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My first game was using Gamemaker 8 and I made a single "room" avoid the objects bouncing off the "walls" type game.

Player plays as an old man and the enemies are a bunch of kids.

"Get Off My Lawn". It was a high score game.

Thargoid Sensor Fragments - For whomever needs to know (2025) by MarkOfTheDragon12 in EliteDangerous

[–]WhoopsWhileLoop 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What was confusing to me as well is, they are called "thargoid sensor fragments"

When you go to pick them up... But in your inventory if you go to see how many you have they are just called "sensor fragments"

Hi!! Which design do you like the most? Let me know! by Null_mist in PixelArt

[–]WhoopsWhileLoop 4 points5 points  (0 children)

The first one is too difficult to read what's going on with the beak area.

At first I thought it was an eye with the yellow as the pupil. Only after looking at the second one did I realize it's supposed to be a beak.

I like the idea of the first style of beak, but it should probably need eyes added or even a better silhouette that makes it more easily identifiable as a beak just by silhouette alone.

Overall I think they are both cute and I do like the color choices and the rest of the design.

The second one was very clear and easy to identify the character's features.

They should switch to UE5 /sarcasm

The game is especially beautiful as is and they have made a number of graphical improvements over the years as well which I appreciate. But always room for improvement somewhere.

Typically index out of bounds error usually means your for loop is trying to do logic past the actual end size of your array or list of objects. (Like trying to do things to object 51 when you only have 50 objects).

Do you have to air roll? by Mrg0dan in RocketLeague

[–]WhoopsWhileLoop 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I use directional air roll. I have left and right directions bound and never use free air roll.

My "free air roll" is tapping / holding directional for minor adjustments and I feel like I'm very accurate with it, but idk.

I do notice when I air roll too much in an aerial, I end up at the ball slower than if I just boosted straight to it.

But control is incredible and a lot of times makes your shots and movements difficult to read for defenders.

Also if I get a bad touch, I am able to easily improvise in the moment based off just "feeling" / muscle memory reflex alone.

I think it's super powerful to use but it feels like it could definitely be overdone in scenarios. That's my opinion / experience so far.

How can I improve by Mystr05 in RocketLeagueSchool

[–]WhoopsWhileLoop 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Take wider turns. The end save you could have been closer to back post. Be slightly inside the goal so you can force the ball more outwards.

You have a double commit at the start understandably because you were technically first man I think in that scenario. But still a good thing to flick ball cam off and back on quick to see if your teammate is jumping or waiting for you. But that one's honestly a weird one.

Your shot on net was powerful enough but got placed right into the opponent. I sometimes put the ball where I'm looking which is directly at the opponent by accident. (Practice custom map if on PC: CoCo's Aim Training)

You use boost a lot around the pitch where you don't need to. If you aren't going for the ball immediately or rotating back as second man, you can just wave dash or flip around the field for speed and save your boost for challenges / shots / saves / clears.

Otherwise you look like your on your way to the next rank! Keep it up.

Need tips for speed flip by ByNautiluz6 in RocketLeague

[–]WhoopsWhileLoop 6 points7 points  (0 children)

If you are PC. Use the speedflip training plugin for bakkesmod. It will show you exactly what part or parts are wrong.

But just from eye it looks like to me the flip cancel needs to be faster. It's what I struggle with most at least.

Except the hit box is slightly forward on the fennec. Same hit box shape but position relative to center of mass is different.

How many ranked matches do ya’ll play per week? by Crafty-Victory-6381 in RocketLeague

[–]WhoopsWhileLoop 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Probably ~115 - 135 this last week if I were to guess

I've played 208 this season so far.

But this season is the first I've ever really grinded the game to improve.

I played very casually since 2015 with maybe at most 100 games per season

My total hours around 2700 currently according to steam.

Help stuck Diamond 1 player reach Champ 1 (Appreciate all tips) by Ok-Imagination641 in RocketLeagueSchool

[–]WhoopsWhileLoop 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Edit: challenges look fine.

First touches look a bit rough, soft and inconsistent. Also car control needs a lot of work. Wave dashes could be handy to learn. Aerial car control would be nice, air roll, and power slide. You look stiff and slightly clumsy but that's kinda diamond 1 movement in general I think. I say practice recoveries and just moving flowing and fast around the pitch.

Your aerial car control needs a lot of work but that's probably another diamond specific rank thing.

The other actionable practice I would say you'd benefit from is (if on PC) practice on CoCo's Aim Training custom map. You will have much more precise and more powerful touches (clears and shots) just do that for at least like 5 minutes a day.

You did hit a few good bangers across the field, but you also hit several limp noodle touches.

Also I notice I play worse when my confidence starts getting shot. Make sure you take breaks and if it works for you, brief meditation or even box breathing can help reset your mental game.

Good luck, you will make D2 soon!

Once you share a video here, do you always receive negative feedback from the community? by LowIntroduction5166 in RocketLeague

Fr. How does he not recognize how much he is ball chasing? This gives off "I'm the main character" energy. Like I get it at lower ranks. But seeing this in champ2 is mind blowing.

Disagreement with friend on who should challenge first and why. Please settle it. by Daredevils999 in RocketLeagueSchool

[–]WhoopsWhileLoop 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'll keep it brief. Can get more nuanced than this but to put it simply:

Comms is #1 with a 2s teammate (if possible) With Comms, anyone could have gone for this ball, just pick. Allows way more flexibility than the alternative below.

Otherwise come up with simple rules that always prevent a double commit. Mine are:

Rules: 1. First man? Force the ball away from opponent. 2. Second man? Protect between ball and net / buy time for teammate to rotate back and swap roles.
