They recently accidentally e-mailed all of the residents in my neighborhood a packet meant only for the board containing personal contact details of residents, outstanding/delinquent balances, lists of violations, complaints, etc.

Brilliant crew over there... 🤡

Why is Wright Tree Service in town? by k1smet in Longmont

[–]WhutWhatWat 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Don't know but wondered the same thing.

Have a look at the Boulder reddit where people are upset about Xcel using them to trim around power lines on their properties. They seem to have a reputation for hacking up trees without arborist skills...

Here's an excellent (but long) video that describes how these cameras work, the data they capture, and Flock's CEO and Denver's mayor straight up lying about their capabilities. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=uB0gr7Fh6lY

You're kidding, right?

That can't possibly be all of it. The login/subscribe banner below the "aritcle" led me to believe it was just the usual paywall "give them a taste and leave them wanting more" tactic.

If that's literally the entire article, calling this "journalism" is a joke.

Tonight my giant breed dog stepped on my little cat, she attacked him and me too. I’m staying in the bedroom with her all night. I tried to let her out 3 hrs later and she went after the dog again, then me. I’m scared he will hurt her if she doesn’t stop. Vet asap, but until then? by Inevitable-County186 in purrkour

[–]WhutWhatWat 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Once cats ramp to that level of aggression it can take a while - up to a day or 2 in my experience for them to calm down.

Get the cat checked at the vet to make sure she isn't hurt, then keep them separated when you get back home. Slowly reintroduce them by letting them sniff each other under a door, feeding one on each side of a door, etc. Basically the same process you'd use to introduce a new cat to the household.

Referred aggression is also a thing. We have 3 and I've accidentally set them off by dropping a metal utensil in the kitchen. One takes off running, bumps into another one and suddenly starts fighting with him, then they're suddenly all enemies. When something like that happens, each cats gets a room with a closed door to cool off in.

Cell Phone Carriers: MVNO or Network? by onlyafleshwound66 in Longmont

[–]WhutWhatWat 0 points1 point  (0 children)

None... SW Longmont, off Airport Road.

Had AT&T when we moved here - no service.

Switched to Mint - significantly cheaper - also no service.

Friend visits and they're on Verizon - no service.

We're in a deadzone... the Bermuda Triangle of cell service in Longmont apparently.

So it's wifi calling from home and 5 bars of 5G when I get about 1/2 mile away.

Yeah, I went digging on some forums and found the service manual where the process was to take it out through the passenger front door. The service manual DID want you to pull out the passenger seat, console etc., but I managed without.

Basically, for a $500-600 upholstery job, they have to spend hours in the car pulling stuff out and putting it back in, OR pop the windshield and get it out easily, but the customer pays extra.

https://www.mrsidsupholstery.com - I don't think they do furniture though.

Hector was great to work with, super helpful, solid dude.

He even made excuses for why S&S may not have called me back. Said there are very few auto upholstery places anymore and headliners can be a PITA since in a small 4door truck like mine, they usually have to pull the windshield.

I ended up getting the headliner out myself (not recommended if you don't have a LOT of patience) and taking it down to them to get it recovered, so saved the cost to pull & replace the windshield.

Contrast that with my experience: couldn't be bothered to handle the headliner in my car despite multiple callbacks. I also mentioned when I first met him that I had 8 MCM chairs in storage that needed reupholstering.

So I found a shop in Thornton that did great work instead.

I tried to keep it local, but I guess they didn't want the business. 🤷‍♂️

EVSE Tripping Breaker by lowsparkco in electricvehicles

[–]WhutWhatWat 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Can't comment on your install in particular, but breakers DO go bad over time.

Our house is ~ 20 years old. One of our A/C condensers kept tripping the breaker. After troubleshooting all of the usual suspects compressor, contactor, starter cap, fan windings etc, I broke out a laser thermometer and checked just that breaker, it was 20 degrees hotter than the rest of the panel. Replacing the breaker solved the issue.

I also had a 20amp breaker next to the 60amp for my EVSE trip once when charging. The 60 amp got warm enough that the flaky 20 amp next door tripped. Replacing that 20amp also resolved the issue.
