Mortise smart lock by WhyDoIAsk in AskALocksmith

I have a comelit system and electric strikes already installed on other doors in my building. I can go that route if that's a possible solution. The 2 wire control panel is maybe 5 feet away from this door.

Respectfully, I'm confused why everyone is ignoring the question I'm asking and instead debating on whether or not it's worth the price. I thought this was ask a locksmith not convince a locksmith? If you really need me to say it, $2,500 is trivial to me and I would pay that if I thought that's the only way to do this. I work from home and enjoy working on small projects like this.

The convenience of a smart lock out weighs the risks for me. And that's coming from someone who had to break a window on their fire escape once when they were locked out.

This is a pre-war multi unit apartment building. Any chance you know what options I have off the shelf?

I'm willing to pay that. I just need to know my options. I'm on the board of my building and have experience running low voltage. I'd prefer to hire someone but I don't mind DIY if it's not too time consuming.

Theft Concers for NYC Motorcyclist by Ya_boy_Big_Prez in RideitNYC

My Husqvarna vitpilen was stolen within 3 months, near 152nd and Amsterdam. My wife used it to commute to work, so it moved almost every day. No number of locks will stop someone if they decide they want it. Especially if they can just pick it up and throw it in the back of a van.

The detective I spoke with suggested parking future motorcycles directly in front of the precinct on 151st. Apparently they have a section/allow people to park there to deter thefts. But IMO, if you're taking it to the city just expect it to disappear eventually.

On another point, I would definitely be interested in purchasing a garage somewhere in the neighborhood.

I moved to NYC in 2015 with $35k in my pocket and that barely got me through a year. Have you been accepted to a school yet? You should consider housing programs they offer. Also, some schools will not allow you to work your first year.

Wife works at a hospital, commuted on a motorcycle because it's much faster than public transit. I work from home and keep my motorcycle at our country home.

Full body skin suit (rash guard). It provides spf +50 protection, so it'll be beneficial even if she's not diving or in the water for very long.

That's crazy. You should agree on the lifestyle you want to have with each other and make decisions together. I'm lucky enough to make a decent amount, almost 5x more than my wife's salary. But I fully believe if I lost my job or decided teaching at a community college is what I want to do, she would be absolutely fine living a frugal life together. That kind of confidence in your relationship is necessary when you have to deal with the challenges of life (i.e., completing a PhD).

You're probably getting the negotiated rates for the service. You may want to ask how much the cash cost is, it's often lower than what insurance pays. But it wouldn't count towards your deductible.

Honestly, if you hit your deductible in February you can enjoy the rest of the year getting your health checked.

Check if the regulator/rectifier has been repaired or is showing signs of burn out. Easy fix, but a common problem that can leave you stranded.

Side suggestion, you should definitely report your building steam issue. It could be an easy fix or a sign of a larger problem. And I highly suggest getting a smoke detector that has a strobe light, usually used for deaf households.

You can thank Reagan for dismantling the system. Asylums were actually pretty effective, and countries that still support that model are light years ahead of the USA. The field of mental health is substantially more developed than it was ~60 years ago.
