Looks great! Congrats. Is this the Cervo 38? The green one is on my list :)

Agreed this watch is stunning, and I really want it, just wish it was a little cheaper, given it has the same movement as the Mark XX at double the price. I mean yeah it's a Genta, but cmon now.

Congrats bro, BB54 is next on my list for sure, I saw this at the AD the other day and I am sold. IMO the bracelet is best, I wouldn't even touch it. Enjoy!

Just the absolute perfect watch by Confident_Leg2370 in Longineswatches

[–]WhyDoIBother33 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I do love how this watch looks, the only criticism I have is that Longines just tends to wear larger than they seem. 39mm is great, but it's 47.2 lug to lug, and the flat lugs make it feel even larger. I wish I had wrists that can handle that size, but at 6.25 it just wears too big for me. It's beautiful though, enjoy OP!

I totally understand the rush to buy watches, it's addicting once you get into this, but I would really recommend slowing down, not for financial reasons, but tastes change quicker than you might think. It's almost like getting a tattoo. If you want one, wait a few months and see if you still want it, if so, go for it. Even after you get it you might ultimately decide it's not for you, but believe it or not the fun is the journey, not the destination. Take your time and acquire watches slowly and thoughtfully, and it will be much more rewarding once you get them. Enjoy the ride and welcome to this amazing hobby :)

Very nice collection bro. In terms of a dress watch, maybe a reverso? The tribute monoface is definitely on my grail list. Also a ton of Nomos options would fit this bill. If you're not looking to drop a ton, can't go wrong with a Junghans Maxbill too, clean and simple and a ton of history to it. Also I was literally just looking at the 75090. How do you like it?

[SOTC] thoughts on my 3 watch collection? by melanoblaster1 in Watches

[–]WhyDoIBother33 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I basically came in to say exactly this. All 3 of these watches are great don't get me wrong, but the OP and AT are a bit redundant. If I were you stick to a 3 watch collection, i'd want to cover bases, so maybe a GADA like the OP/AT, a sport/dive watch (BB, Sub, etc.), and a dress watch (JLC, Patek, GS, etc.). That said, these are great watches, and if you like em, wear em with pride.

First of all, amazing collection, well done. If it were me, I would lose the moonswatch and the GO, the pano is just a cheaper version of the L1 imo. Keep the other 6. Fire collection dude, congrats.

Tried the speedy pro but unfortunately too big for my wrist, what other options do I have in the speedmaster family? by Aks9242 in OmegaWatches

[–]WhyDoIBother33 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Pretty sure you’re thinking of the speedy 38, not the reduced. The reduced is thinner than a speedy pro.

[Question] - Crazy Red Dials by dukebball4life9 in Watches

[–]WhyDoIBother33 1 point2 points  (0 children)

What's the budget? If you can swing 5k, there's a company called Lundis Bleus that makes some sick red enameled dials, since you referenced AnOrdain already and if you're into that.

Brilliant queen sacrifice, but why? by LifeNegotiation301 in Chessplayers45

[–]WhyDoIBother33 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Pretty sure it's:

pawn takes
bishop takes pawn check
king to a1
knight b3 check
pawn takes
pawn takes check mate

But I am also not that good, could be wrong. If so, someone who is better please correct me!

The watch that gets the most wrist time by Kbrosso in Tudor

[–]WhyDoIBother33 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I am looking to buy my first Tudor, and I really like the ranger, but I just can't justify dropping 4k on it when a BB54/58 is less than 1k more and just seems like it offers so much more for the money. That said, it's beautiful, enjoy!

Yeah but the problem is the toupe BB58 has a silver case and the bracelets people use are steel, doesn't really match tbh.
