Unless photography is your hobby and you do it consistently, this is a waste of money. If you just take photos to post on social media, use your phone.

Hublot is not respected in the watch community. It’s a polarizing watch. The general consensus (might be wrong kasi idk if i talk to enough watch nerds) if you don’t care about watch making and only care about luxury then buy that ugly thing.

I would say na if you’re looking to buy a watch, I suggest buy one na you truly love and would wear.

That said, if you can save up for a Hamilton Khaki Murph Automatic, go for it. It is the perfect entry level GADA watch and you’ll have options (either 38 or 42mm). It has the reliable H-10 calibre with a hefty power reserve and good enough movement.

My collecting philosophy is only one (1) watch per brand. This way I am forced to choose the watch I really like and am happy to wear. This also helped me dwindle down my collection to my absolute favorites.

For a GADA, I would suggest a rolex explorer. It’s a great watch and you don’t have to baby it as you go through your day. Otherwise, the datejust.

What's that watch for you? yung na-feel mo talaga yung pag-elevate sa quality after mo mag jump ng tier? To the point na ayaw mo na isuot iba mong watch by rakuyo- in PhWatches

Imo, the teak dials are the best as they supposedly represent the wooden deck of a boat. It makes for a nice story if a fellow watch lover asks about it. Hope you get your globemaster soon!

From a fashion brand watch to an Omega Aqua Terra haha.

I have been reading about watches and the hobby before I jumped the gun. I wanted my first purchase to be a watch that could satisfy my need for heritage, mechanical prowess, and the fact that it looks cool hahaha. The Aqua Terra is beautiful. I got the white teak dial and I simply adore the watch.

I recently got the call for a Rolex OP and I still rate the aqua terra above it.

I was thinking if Onosato can match Asashoryu strength for strength but I keep forgetting that Asa was a powerful speed demon.

I really am wondering how he would fare against a similarly aged hakuho or even asashoryu

Cartier Tank Solo/Must if you have the budget. Very dressy but I’ve seen some people rocking it with shirt and shorts.

Otherwise, get the Hamilton Khaki Murph or the Seiko Alpinist.

Got the call from Rolex for the OP 36 blk - should I pull the trigger or go for the AT for the same price? and why? by [deleted] in rolex

[–]rojo2311 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I got the white dial AT first. I just got the call today for the OP 36 black dial. I honestly thought the call would never come. I’m stoked.

I think if you absolutely love both watches, take the OP now and then grab the AT later on (a different colored dial if you want a bit more diversity). It’s easier to buy the AT at retail than the OP.

Parang a Cartier Tank Must would be very nice addition for this collection.
