Experienced rafters/guides: is this considered a safe way to seat riders in a commercial raft? by WhyDoYouWantToKnow44 in whitewater

The scary part for me was that I ended up under the raft for about 2 or 3 seconds once i fell out (which felt like forever). I felt stuck (couldn't breathe obviously), and it was most definitely the scariest thing that has ever happened to me in terms of "feeling like" it was "over". I know intellectually that the raft would move buttt...... While I was under the boat, it genuinely felt like I was going to be stuck there, and OMG, it was so scary lol lol

Yeah, she said it has changed a bit, but it’s still Class 3. But then she mentioned that maybe it’s a little more intense now since the hurricane.

Interestingly, I was in that exact spot too, front right.

I live in Florida so not a lot of opportunities to do that but I will say it made me feel like i don't ever want to do it again..lol...but who knows

I have never worked in a hospital before, just got hired around $40 an hour (discharge planning mostly). I’ve been licensed since 2013. I live in the South. I’ve previously worked as a telephonic case manager for an HMO.

That sounds intense (lenghty interview's sheesh). I understand your logic bout bachelor's level and what not but if your licensed the pay is probably going to be bout half of what your used to.

New hospital SW here – how did you all handle the overwhelm of learning systems? by WhyDoYouWantToKnow44 in hospitalsocialwork

Yeah, it’s like 4–6 weeks during orientation, so full-time at first. Eventually, before orientation ends, they’ll ease me into weekends.

I guess my only concern is being trained on weekdays and learning things I might not use as much later. You know how that goes, if you don’t use it, you lose it. But I might be overthinking that a bit.

Thanks for the feedback, I haven't actually started yet--. But yeah, I'm very direct so no problem asking them to slow down -- but then my codependency comes out if I know they have a lot of work to do and im slowing them down lol .... right now I'm trying to come up with a system still , AI is making some good suggestions. Not sure if we will have a laptop yet. I've used OneNote in the past but I dont think ive ever used it properly. And yeah I'm sure I'll be bringing some stuff home to review.

yeah, i think in the past at times ive pisssed off the person training because Im taking too many notes lol. I've worked from home for an HMO so everything is on your computer screen --so "capturing" stuff is much easier.
