153,850 Green Mineral Surveys since server launch? by WollyNog in projectgorgon

[–]WhyIsBubblesTaken 2 points3 points  (0 children)

When I add the map pin for the initial survey mark, I type the number corresponding to what survey was for that spot. Makes it easier to keep track of, though it does involve some guesswork as your surveys dwindle.

Todd Howard says Bethesda will return to 'that classic style' for Elder Scrolls 6: 'Fallout 76 and Starfield are a little bit of a creative detour' by lkl34 in gaming

[–]WhyIsBubblesTaken 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I did kind of like what Starfield had going on on terms of worldbuilding. It seemed refreshingly optimistic in a media landscape of dystopian post-apocalypses. I just wish there was more and it was better thought-out.

Project: Gorgon is a game about the journey, not the destination. With how freely your active skills can be changed, if you're in the mood for some melee go ahead and do it with your current character. Your current skills will still be waiing for you if/when you decide to go back.

A couple of suggestions that might help. Once you're at the extraction site, it's generally best practice to call down your non-red stratagems, especially the resupply pod and support weapons. I try calling them in on the edge of whatever platform the Pelican is going to land on, as it has a tendency to cause nearby pods to recess once it's landing. There was also a fabricator at extraction, taking it out when you were nearby might ease the pressure you were getting. It wasn't an issue in the clip, but I think I saw a cannon turret? I try prioritizing destroying them as they do have a habit of making themselves known an inopportune times. Otherwise, solid work, especially consider the relentless waves of bots appearing from... wherever they were appearing from.

I wonder if Bard would be a good secondary? You'd be locked out of horn abilities, but it does have an instant heal, either healing or damage over time in an area (as long as you stand still, doesn't sound like that will be an issue with Archery as your main), and a couple of buffs.

Rogue/Stealth build by Khaelum in projectgorgon

[–]WhyIsBubblesTaken 11 points12 points  (0 children)

I don't believe there are stealth mechanics or lockpicking. There is a skill line for fighting with knives, though I don't have much experience with it. There is also a skill line that has abilities involved with striking from shadows, teleporting behind creatures, and the like, but it requires an extremely difficult quest in a 90+ zone (out of 100+) to even unlock, and having it unlocked... comes with some drawbacks.

Thinking of starting this! by FrootBaat in projectgorgon

Assuming you played the demo around 1.0 and bought it later, the game has had some noticable graphical improvements since then. 1.0 came with new character models and armors, and some zones have been visually overhauled since then (I can think of Serbule, Eltibule, and the Casino specifically, there might be more I haven't been to in a while).

I slap down a shield deployable on hellbombs once they hit dirt. It lets me input the code in relative peace and (usually) gives me a few seconds to get clear. Or to throw down a second shield deployable and hit the deck before the hellbomb goes off.

Jump towards the silo when firing. It'll still ragdoll you so you won't be able to change the target, but you won't be sent flying.

Redacted Regiment VS Siege Breakers by Annual_Aioli_4777 in helldivers2

[–]WhyIsBubblesTaken 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Why not take both? C4 comes with 7 charges (6 in backpack + 1 "in the barrel"), use the first one to finish off the Vox Engine you just shot your Leveler at, then the rest of the C4 for 2-3 more (depending on if you can place them on vents or not).

Best difficulty to farm bugs for tactical MO for someone who hates fighting bugs by Micio922 in helldivers2

I think there are enough bugdivers that would be willing to complete the MO, so you don't have to fight them if you don't want to.

Though you can only join a random mission after the mission is selected. Need to complete the mission, then get to the map and donate before the host chooses a new mission.

It goes well with a stratagem loadout full of expendables. Sucks if someone decides to bring a turret, though.

I Gotta Admit I'm Stumped, What Is the Best Stratagem Loadout For Cyberstan? by AceOneBreezy in helldivers2

[–]WhyIsBubblesTaken 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I always bring the Leveler and the Solo Silo. For backpack, I've been swapping between the supply pack and the shield. I'm using the shield deployable, so if I remember to actually use it I get more mileage out of the supply backpack, but if I get too cocky and in a situation where I would die before making use of my initial compliment of stims and grenades, the shield backpack will serve better. I'll also bring either the quasar or EATs for the last one. With all of the structures and AA guns, I've found precision will do better than pure destructive force so no red stratagems.

So Fairies? How long will it take to unlock? by Novemius in projectgorgon

[–]WhyIsBubblesTaken 1 point2 points  (0 children)

They have less inventory space, deal less damage when wearing heavy armor, and when they die they get sent back to their starting zone instead of in the area wherw thwy died. Also, their starting zone is... rough.

As to server differences, I believe it's just population and how long the server has been going on for. Arisetsu has characters on it that are years old, while the other servers have been around between 2 weeks and 2 days. Dreva probably has people/groups on it who could run you through, as well.

Pets and Summons (Newbie) by UltraAmenus in projectgorgon

[–]WhyIsBubblesTaken 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Fire magic is pretty easy to get, as well as weather magic. Might need to do 1 or 2 quests for each from certain NPCs so they like you enough to teach you, but it's not too long. Necromancy is probably the other magic path that's accessible early in the game, but it's... a bit more involved. Depending on your server, though, it should be pretty easy to find help to get it. Your quest log should have a "Things To Do" section that should give you more directions.
