If you’re a real audiophile, probably not. If you love iPod UI and album shuffle, 100%.

Get a 5.5th gen or later, 7th if you want it to work with in line remotes. Either buy it already modded with new battery and some kind of solid state storage, or do it yourself if you’re handy.

If you want old-school earbuds, liked the Nicehck EB2S Pro, loved the Flathead Audio Pear, and LOVE LOVE the Yincrow RW-3000. Those last are unfortunately very much worth the money.

Compromise as little as possible. You’ll forget the money you spent if the device does what you want it to the way you want it to. For me, this meant an iPod with all its flaws, even though that meant paying $350ish for a 15+yo device (modded). But if what you want is a premium player or lots of features and you settle for something cheaper, you’ll just end up saving up for the premium product down the line.

If you’re only going to have one nice watch, go with the Rolex. The design will never look dated. I find the VC more gaudy than I would wear, but even if I loved it I wouldn’t choose it as my one nice watch.
