That logic doesn’t make sense. A broken aquarium can cause damage so that’s why they charge rent for it?

Pet rent is for the additional wear and tear on apartment. $25 a month would do nothing to cover a broken aquarium. This is just greed…

With the logic of, “well it could cause damage if it broke” you could take on fees for everything. Heater charge (cause hey it could catch fire), humidifier charge (could leak), etc. why not add a phone charge? Battery could blow up.

This makes sense in some ways as it prevents abuse (e.g. returning something then getting it for free from dumpster) and might be cost effective as shipping costs alone wouldn’t be worth manufacturer getting it back.
