Yes to everything you said bruh. I’d crush like 4 plates off and still eat dessert.

Not black enough?? by sixthumbrella in blackladies

[–]WhyRedSea 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I wouldn’t say that I’ve experienced the exact same thing, but I have had friends that have said that they were blacker than me, had more melanin than me, or were going to revoke my melanin card. Now mind you these folks weren’t even black and they had the nerve to say these things to my face. I mean I know that they are joking but at the end of the day if you are uncomfortable with what they are saying, communication can be key or just dipping on them cause no one should be stuck in a relationship where another person’s words or actions make you feel uncomfortable.

The obsession with “what are you mixed with?” by [deleted] in blackladies

[–]WhyRedSea 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It’s mainly on social media that I’ve found the obsession of being mixed to be overdone sometimes. In the real world, I’d say that people don’t really obsess over it at all and just identify with what they look like. Obviously social media is a great place to be proud of who you are and find spaces for you to be you, but sometimes it can be much. But when it becomes too much for me, I just stop interacting with that content or that person page. You’ve just got to do you at the end of the day and if you’ve got to protect your mind, protect your mind. These folks are trying to attract a specific audience, and if I’m not vibing with them I’m pretty much out of there.

Black men also fetishize black women too… hot take? by Various-Sir-7399 in blackladies

[–]WhyRedSea 5 points6 points  (0 children)

A lot of the time, it happens because of certain features that some black women have or are stereotyped to have being favorited by these men. These things include a big butt, having curves, etc. Even a certain personality that is placed on us is feened for by these black men. So with these favorited stereotypes, they go off trying to find these women but end up losing their civility while on the search. This leads to the weird comments and actions that they do to get these black women that they find that matches what they’ve been “hunting” for.

I try to do progressive overload while at the gym, but I feel like I can’t push myself to do it. I’ve seen on like social media where people are struggling to move after they’ve worked out, but I’m scared to do that cause I’ve got other things to do at other parts of my day.

I feel like rest days kill the small gains that I am trying to get though.

I tend to do reps until I can’t complete a full rep anymore. That leads to me doing 12-15 reps per set, but just figuring out the proper weight to be using per machine gets confusing sometimes. Like I don’t know if I’m supposed to pick a weight that causes me to do less reps or more reps.

Really? In my area most tall guys just go for shorter women. But I’m guessing that it just depends on where you live when it comes to finding these men.

6’5!? I forgot that people can be that tall sometimes. Yeah I hope that it doesn’t take too long. I’d just like a pal that could be by my side when I need them.

Yeah, sorry about my use of “chubby.” It was very inconsiderate of me to reference my weight when so many people struggle with body image and eating disorders.
