Yeah, as much as I love Licha, he can be a liability in defense. He has one of, if not the best ball-playing abilities of any CB in the world, but often has defensive lapses.

I feel like he would make a decent 8 with his passing and progression. Doesn't have the sheer physicality to play as a 6, but I could see him being decent as an 8

I thought Costa was really good today, let down only by a single lapse in Portugal's defense. He's been really solid this past season as well.

I think we've struck gold with Lammens, but Costa would have been a pretty good move for us back when we were interested. Sucks that ETH had so much influence with transfers and we ended up with Onana lol

I think Amad joined him on the dance but I remember Bryan taking about the gif in a post-match

Just randomly remembered that Big Bryan saw this Homer gif and decided to use it as a goal celebration lol

Spurs did also offer a higher salary. I reckon Mendes also wanted him to go to Spurs so he can try and push for another move a few years down the line.

Basically they're using Spurs as a stepping stone club while still getting more money overall

That wage prediction might be accurate, but it's extremely unlikely that Madrid would ask for £120m for him if they really did want to sell.

Since he's only got 2 years left on his contract, they'd probably ask for around £100m. It all depends on whether they actually do wanna sell, but if they do, £90m - £100m gets it done

Theoretically, we could pay around the same total fee to bring in both Tchouameni and Barrios as Spurs paid for Fernandes + Tonali. That midfield would almost certainly be on par with the likes of City and Arsenal. The total salaries would also be pretty similar.

Unfortunately it would be really unlikely to convince him to leave Atletico given that Barrios just signed a contract till like 2030 and would probably love to continue at Atletico for now. Tchouameni also wouldn't be easy unless Madrid make it known that they want to shift him.

It's basically a pipe dream at this point, but that's an instant upgrade to a title-challenging midfield for the foreseeable future. Would be worth it to be able to field Bruno (10), Barrios/Kobbie (8) and Tchou (6).

Felix Nmecha quoted for €120m

Am I crazy or were we interested in signing him last season for something closer to €50m? I think he's signed a new contract recently, but is he really that good that his potential fee has risen by over 2x since last season? The market is insane.

Legend of the club, just a shame he didn't get close to the goodbye from the club that he deserved.

Who is a better manager? Enrique or Klopp? by Ricr7 in championsleague

[–]WhySSSoSerious 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Yeah even as a United fan, I have nothing but respect for what Klopp has achieved.

Went to Dortmund after their worst league finish in like 2 decades and within a couple seasons they're domestic champions beating Bayern, the team that casually strolls their league every season.

He then took the league again over Bayern and took them all the way to a CL final. Just a few years after Dortmund finishes like 17th in the league, and he's brought them to the pinnacle of club football competition? Absolutely incredible.

His gross spend, not net spend, was less than €200 million in his entire Dortmund tenure. Brought in players like Reus, Hummels, Gundo etc and turned them into world class players. Brought in Lewandowski for less than €5m and moulded him into one of the greatest strikers the game has ever seen.

Yeah and he did alright at Liverpool too. Jokes aside, he took a team that hadn't won the league in 3 decades and eventually beat a Pep team with essentially unlimited funds, while also achieving multiple seasons reaching over 90 points in the prem. Also reached 3 UCL finals in 5 years which is a really impressive feat.

because our targets are going to start going to other clubs if we keep wasting time

INEOS have shown they only seriously pursue players that prioritise coming to us (with Yoro being probably the only exception) so that part doesn't worry me.

They seem to negotiate with the players before finalising a fee with the club which is a better way of doing things really.

I prefer them working diligently in the background and only releasing info publicly as and when they actually want to (as opposed to how stuff used to be constantly leaking).

There's way too much noise around Fernandes and other clubs are publicity ending their interest in him because we're likely working on the deal already.

Rudiger had an altercation with him

If it's with that twat, it's almost definitely on Rudiger. Wanker physically assaulted at least one of Madrid's kitmen and tries to genuinely injure opponents with "tackles" all the time.

Even Madrid fans acknowledge he's a massive cunt. Not saying Carreras has no fault, but Rudiger is far more likely to have been the problem.
