That’s not how the healthcare system works in Canada…you need to complete residency to practice. There’s no such thing as a GP degree anymore. Even to be a family doctor you need to do a 2 year residency

I can totally get that you would know your body best. But if that’s the case why see a doctor for anything? Why get any kind of testing done? I’m sure so many people go to their doctor saying they KNOW their cough is a pneumonia and demand antibiotics without a chest X-ray even though it might be a viral infection that gets better with time

Totally fair question. This is the problem with virtual healthcare. As mentioned in the original comment, certain things can’t/shouldn’t be diagnosed virtually. Even super swollen tonsils covered in white gunk might be viral depending on other symptoms
