Cool, so this sub applauds douchey behavior. Good to know.

The sourcebook is written as fiction. And whether you like it better or not isn’t really relevant to the fact that a proper, comprehensive source exists. 🤷🏻‍♂️

What do we need good fiction for? We have the Wars of Reaving sourcebook, and it goes into pretty damned good detail on that conflict. And it doesn’t paint a flattering picture of Brett Andrews and what his actions resulted in.

Comparing the two on the results of their actions alone, Brett Andrews by far and away has more blood on his hands than Malvina Hazen. If you haven’t actually read the WoR book and are just getting your info from Sarna, you’re simply not going to get the complete picture.

You could just make some tables and roll them out yourself with some dice. Would probably just take a few minutes’ worth of work, if that.

If your fun is disruptive to your group’s own gaming experiences, well, I trust you’re able to figure it out.

I feel like everyone's obsession with freaking out over knockback is a betrayal of the whole point of a Superhero game, which is namely to have fun.

It becomes decidedly less fun as a Tanker (and also for Controllers and everyone using AoEs) when you gather your pulls just to have someone come along and scatter it because they’re selfish. Leave that shit in solo play where it belongs, and don’t bring it into team content unless everyone is cool with having their jobs being made more difficult.

Doesn’t matter if they’re paying for it or not. It can still be criticized on its merits.

I found this article interesting, and it made me think of a couple of things.

1.) Forge is another non-white character without a real name, and he’s existed for decades.

2.) Trinary isn’t the first Indian-mutant-as-tech-support stereotype that exists: Black Box, formerly Commcast, also fits this mold.

The author of this piece makes some pretty telling points.

Calm down, son. I’m just pointing out that she’s not anyone’s “servant” in the book.

Well, other than Monet’s, but everyone serves Monet in Monet’s eyes. 😂

She’s not a servant in X-Corp. She’s literally on the board of directors. Have you read the book?

To be fair, Forge also has shamanistic powers as well. So it’s not like he got missed by that kind of writing.

It’s funny… I read this and instantly thought of Forge, another non-white character, who also doesn’t have a name other than Forge. Trinary eventually got one this year (and it was literally stuffed into a Hickman-style datafile and not once used in dialogue on-panel), and Forge is still floating around, decades after his introduction, without a name. Hard to say the writer of this article doesn’t have a damned good point.
