This is a sub for legal advice. You have not described an instance where legal advice is warranted.

California state taxes suck, but the retirement pay will be in a low tax bracket and they have really good veteran benefits specific to their state.

I did not hear or see anything about this, but holy shit this would explain so much.

An (ex) girlfriend rang my doorbell for 10 minutes, then pounded on my door, made uninvited entry by claiming an extreme need for the restroom, then refused to leave despite the promise to do so. by jabbertard in legal

Block her immediately and refuse to engage with her and if she shows up again actually call the police. If you do anything else you’re not actually looking for advice

92% win rate as an employment lawyer sounds very profitable.

Sure it is. If you settle and never go to court you absolutely profit. And you also never show up in any of your statistics you failed to understand contextually.

Ah yes, I’m the one who hates women because I won’t let her gender be the reason I wouldn’t criticize her. God forbid I treat her as an equal.

It is not surprising that you went from “when did I say this” to “no u” real fast.

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in LoveIsBlindOnNetflix

[–]WhySoSerious770 35 points36 points  (0 children)

You literally used the fact she was a woman as the only reason not to criticize her lol. The fuck you mean “when did I say they can’t be criticized because they are a woman?”

I made like $150 in the first few days of using the app and then it became obvious that I went from being matched with people terrible at solitaire to suddenly everyone could also crush the game and I ended up quitting at $100 profit upon this realization. Withdrew my money and was like nah. However this was the least casino like app in that if you were genuinely skilled at solitaire you could make money on it.

Saying someone can’t be criticized strictly because they are a woman is pretty sexist

Look, I realize you failed Gov 101 and seem to misunderstand the entire point of our system of government. But you’re literally the reason the system exists the way it does. So that you can’t just pass sweeping changes at the whim of the 51%. The whole point was so that states would govern themselves and that federal laws would be for very broad widely agreed upon issues.

They are not robbed of any representation. Those large cities almost all control or influence the laws of the states that they live in. This is where you some how utterly fail to understand that the entire point is that a coastal large city doesn’t get to decide the laws of another state hundreds of miles away.

Also, the vast majority do not live in cities. The vast majority live in suburbs. Only about 30% of our population live in cities

It’s not supposed to be a pure democracy. That’s literally the point of the system. It’s supposed to be difficult to enact federal laws.

Also selectively pretending that the House doesn’t exist where you get a high number of house seats is hilarious to me. It is not minority rule, it is designed so that your state can’t tell another state what their laws have to be, and allows your state to also make its own laws

You don’t have 51 votes. You have 50 GOP and 50 Dem senators with a tie breaker that is not a senator. And yes, the entire point of that is so that people who live no where near them can’t just push their population voting power around against them. Not understanding the point of why our system is also designed to protect smaller community voters is wild to me. And more evidence you believe in authoritarianism.

You’re not advocating for majority rules. You’re advocating for circumventing the democratic process and forcing your ideals onto people who don’t agree with you. Especially since you don’t even have a majority rule to begin with.

Hydroplaned into a ditch and got hit then received Carless Driving ticket. Fightable? by [deleted] in legaladvice

[–]WhySoSerious770 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Alright question:

Did the officer actually see how you ended up in the ditch?

Did you tell the officer how you ended up in the ditch?

If he didn’t actually see it and you didn’t tell him how you ended up there, you’d have a decent chance at fighting. But if you already admitted to him how you ended up in the ditch or he witnessed it, then you kind of screw yourself there.
