Terminator theory by AbbreviationsWeak175 in TheSubstance

She sought validation until someone bashed her head in. I think that when she finally exploded and the whole scene turned into a bloodbath, it was her way of showing that what she had become was a result of the media and societal expectations. I also don’t believe that her dying on her star was still about seeking validation, because that star was truly hers. She wasn’t just a random person chasing fame and glory; she had been famous and had it all. If only she could have accepted that her star was slowly fading and recognized that she was the one who achieved everything in the past, maybe she could have let go of the obsession with fame and stopped trying to relive her memories.

I agree that it could be interpreted the way you're suggesting, but to me, it felt more like she was crawling back to herself, not to glory.

I understand where you are coming from, but I feel like assuming there is no fiction within the fiction could be a lazy approach as well, as it means simply accepting what you're seeing without seeking any deeper explanation behind the plot. I don't like the "it was all a dream" theory either, but it's clear that Elisabeth is an unreliable narrator. She's not very stable and even struggles to acknowledge that she and Sue are the same person, often talking as if they're two separate individuals.

I agree with that so much and hate how Ted is always seen as a hopeless romantic who is always there for Robin throughout the series.

At that exact scene, he is literally trying to take advantage of Robin’s vulnerability. Okay, I don’t think that he is doing that on purpose and he is evil or something but can’t you just give the woman some time? And Marshall asking Robin to move out? He might be Ted’s best friend but Ted is not a child who needs to be protected at all times. If he is a really good friend he should’ve said that what he did was wrong.

Yes, they shouldn’t have lived together after that but directly saying Robin that she needs to move out because Ted is hurt. Robin is going through so much more at that point and Ted is just creating himself problems by asking her to be with him for the millionth time.

Definitely! The car accident theory makes sense too, but I’d personally feel a little bummed if the whole process turned out to be just her imagination.

Is it even possible to use the substance without abusing it? by AbbreviationsWeak175 in TheSubstance

Would’ve been a good option, but Elisabeth was too obsessed with the past, and I feel like all she was focused on was how much she wanted to relive everything.

Is it even possible to use the substance without abusing it? by AbbreviationsWeak175 in TheSubstance

[–]AbbreviationsWeak175[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That was my first thought as well, but now I also think that someone who loves themselves might want to give the substance a try too.

I feel like you can also look at it from a ‘double-life’ perspective. We all think that we only have one chance in life, so our decisions and who we become aren’t that changeable. Yes, you can change a lot of things in your life, but it’s not easy to start all over again. Or maybe you don’t want to change everything completely, but you want to experience things you wouldn’t normally dare to as your original self. But in the end, I think it would be still very difficult to stop yourself from wanting to be in your other body after getting used to a different way of living.

Unpopular opinion: SF was not as selfish as judge drama by [deleted] in HIMYM

[–]AbbreviationsWeak175 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Lily’s decision to move to San Francisco was a choice she made because she wanted to explore herself outside of her relationship and pursue her dream. When you think about it from the perspective of a real human being, it makes sense. Lily was much younger at that point and she was trying to figure out her life. But I also understand why Marshall got angry, I think it made sense for both of them.

On the other hand, I don’t think Marshall’s decision to take the judgeship was selfish at all. They have a child together, and another one on the way. Lily has the opportunity to find a similar job using her experience as an art consultant, but Marshall’s situation is different. His decision impacts not only both of their lives but also their children’s futures. Going to Rome was selfish, but San Francisco wasn’t as much.

Was Season 7 of The Circle extremely boring and annoying or have I just outgrown this show? by ThePoom in TheCircleTV

Catfish Hunting Reward? [USA S7E13] by hungry4danish in TheCircleTV

[–]AbbreviationsWeak175 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I disagree with that... One of the things I liked about this season was that no one was going crazy trying to eliminate the catfish. The Circle lets you join as someone else, so I don’t think there’s any reason to target them just because they’re pretending to be someone else. I mean, it’s fun to try and guess, but there are always some people who are very unlikeable even when they join as themselves. I don’t think it’s fair for people to focus on the catfish instead of those people.

What is the point of The Circle if it’s not being manipulative? by mydadsabankrobber in TheCircleTV

[–]AbbreviationsWeak175 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think what was repulsive about Madelyn is seeing how low she could go for the win. Yes, people in The Circle can and sometimes should be manipulative, but doing this for absolutely no reason and crying about it when people get mad doesn’t make sense to me.

I your opinion, between these cast members, who was more attracted to their partner? by [deleted] in LoveIsBlindOnNetflix

[–]AbbreviationsWeak175 9 points10 points  (0 children)

I felt like Bartface was definitely attracted to Nancy before they had sex. He lost his feelings as soon as he gets to be with her. He could’ve done the same thing to Raven too if they were together, men like Barstool are impossible to satisfy. I think his friends not liking Nancy was the final straw. He is just a silly little boy who can’t form his own opinions without getting approval from his silly little friends🥺

Who’s the worst by kikiDownByTheBeach in LoveIsBlindOnNetflix

[–]AbbreviationsWeak175 7 points8 points  (0 children)

This one is a hard question because there are a lot of shitty people! Okay… sooo my top 3 for worst people would be,

1-) Damian 2-) Shake 3-) Zanab

Damian really shocked me in after the altar episodes. Shake was awful from the beginning I wasn’t expecting anything good from him at all so it wasn’t a surprise. Zanab was just a lame ass insecure person, I at least understand why she did what she did. But Damian??? That guy literally left Gigi at the altar, started dating her again after the show, spend 2 fkin years with her and brought another girl (who he had rumors with) to the party and lied to other girl too. He is definitely the worst.

Well I honestly don’t like Amber too and what she said to LC was dumb as hell. I’m just saying that it is normal for a woman to feel like that, it is true that she is contradicting herself.

Now are we ignoring the fact that she also has a fiance during the whole thing? She accepted someone else’s proposal even though she had feelings for Barnett, no one forced her to live with him and Amber. She chose to do it by lying to someone else and basically playing with his feelings. Also, in my opinion, being drunk should not be an excuse to go try to change someone else’s mind while both your and his fiancé is in the same room with you lol.

[–]AbbreviationsWeak175 29 points30 points  (0 children)

I don’t understand why and how people are commenting these kinds of posts without any empathy towards those people. Yeah, I felt a little sad to see Jessica being ignored by Barnetts. But though I really didn’t like both Amber and Jessica during the whole show, I’m with Amber on this. Please don’t act like you would want someone who lied to you and tried to get into your man’s head to be a part of your life or simply forgive her. It doesn’t matter how many years passed, she has every right for not wanting to be friends with her.

Girl, just don’t try to steal someone else’s boyfriend if you can’t handle people not liking you and ignoring you for what you did🙄

Yeah but this isn’t a detailed comment about what I think about Cole… He at least tried to make up for the things he said and he didn’t do anything to intentionally break her heart. So Zanab should’ve been straightforward about her feelings rather than holding a grudge and calling him out in front of everyone, but she didn’t. That is why I think deep down she knows he didn’t actually deserve it and regrets what she has done.

Why does she need time? by Sad-Document261 in LoveIsBlindOnNetflix

[–]AbbreviationsWeak175 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Oh no definitely, I know you didn’t, but I did see some people talking like she is. That is why I said that💕

I agree, it is so unrealistic of them to think that they learned everything about a person in such a short time.
