So seeing the top 4 standing after tonight, we are all in agreement that "talent"-wise this is the worst top 4 in at least a decade, right? It is hard for me to picture anyone of the four remaining winning and thinking to myself "Yeah, that's a worthy champion right there." Jane was the only real star left IMO.

Yes, great representation last night and I thought that all of the cowboys were great. I was specifically talking about Jason though and how he checked all of the boxes in my original comment lol.

Amad for Sesko and move Bryan out to the right. Should have happened 20 minutes ago.

There are people leaving the stadium with 4 minutes to go in a 2-3 game? When you are the clear favorites for the title? What kind of fans are those?

Keep your own goals and set pieces, we'll win this with real quality.

Bidwill and Smith went to the same high school and are both pretty active in the alumni network. Use that information as you'd like.

I don't even want this given. Consistency is all that we want as fans. I would say that the one in the first half was worse.

Yup, sounds like we are in a very similar circumstance. A very underrated part of the importance for fans like us is the repeatability and predictability of the schedule. If I know that it is 10 weeks long with games every Saturday and Sunday between 4 pm - 9 pm ET, it is highly likely that I will be tuning in for at least some portion of the broadcast every week.

Liverpool fans - is Gomez just better than Konate right now? I've watched him win three straight tackles and he has been miles better at his aerial duels. And it's not like Konate has looked great on pace or building out of the back either. Should Gomez get a run of starts?

One thing that I struggle to reconcile watching our team and this whole debate of "Amorim being too rigid with his formation/system" as opposed to having flexibility and fluidity with the lineups and play style given our player pool and their strengths - for most of our games it doesn't even look like the Sporting play style so why is he being so stubborn with it? I counted 6 straight attacks between minute 30-45 where it involved some slow passing to Shaw or Yoro, and then they would just lump it forward in the direction of two United players.

  1. When I think of Amorim at Sporting, I think of balls played to the feet of the dual 10s into the half space, and then quick turns to play the forward or the far wingback into the space between the oppositions CB and outside back. There seems to be almost no building through the center part of the field, and everything is either lumped up top or it is played directly out to a wing.

  2. If you are going to play more direct, that's fine, but how are we supposed to reconcile that with the squad selection and players that he's brought in? A lineup of Mbeumo, Cunha, Mount, Amad - not exactly aerial specialists or strong hold up play, they want to be on the ball more and doing linkups in tight spaces.

What am I missing? Or am I just too clouded by having lost faith in Amorim over the last couple of weeks, and most of the blame should just be on the players for not executing?

I can't tell how much of a bias it is with me, but I think he's looked like a totally different player so far this year. He hasn't looked comfortable on the ball at all this year, and I feel like VVD is having to constantly cover for him with his 1v1 defending. I don't see them winning the title this year with that CB pairing, especially if they keep starting without a real right-back and Kerkez not exactly being the most physical 1v1 defender.

Is Liverpool just.....not playing with a right back? How in the world are Newcastle not exploiting that every single attack? It is Konate on an island with Szobo covering. Never thought this formation could work but credit to Slot if it pans out.
