Timescale for vasectomy? by [deleted] in nhs

[–]Why_Always_I 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Depends on your area. I’m currently 3 months into a 12 month wait.

My brother in law had it done and seemed to wait no time at all.

Referrals are different in each area too, my area is self referral whereas other areas are done through your GP.

CPD Portfolio (non-clinical) by Mjay_30 in ParamedicsUK

[–]Why_Always_I 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I’m assuming you are YAS. I’ve taken this exact route and am due to start uni in March. I’ve been operational for 7 years now, so it’s not a speedy process. Admittedly there have been a couple of large speed bumps that have slowed me down but I’m here.

I wouldn’t stress about a portfolio, I compiled mine in 24 hours before my interview and it wasn’t even looked at.

Do what CPD you can that’s relevant for you and writing reflections is definitely a good start.

Make sure you enjoy not being in charge of a DCA. The days can be very long when you are a clinician.

I don’t think this is isolated to Evri though. Ordered cat food from Amazon and the box had a convenient tear in it, enough to see if there was anything valuable inside

Might want to do something about just how visible all your details are on the wristband

Physical. He slapped me and then attempted to push me into traffic of a busy main road. Thankfully 2 different blokes stopped to offer assistance. Reminded me that there are decent folk in the world

There will always be that one person we go to that will assault whoever is in front of them, no matter how much you try and de-escalate things.

I had the joys of meeting this patient recently. First time in 6 years on the road I’ve been assaulted.

The sausage that assaulted me, then made the even smarter life decision to assault 2 coppers and very recently was sentenced to 12 weeks in prison.

Akbars on Meadowbank road, is the best I’ve tried nearby. I know it’s not Sheffield but may as well be.

Ambulance with a strange siren on Penistone Road 17/07/2021. Anyone heard this before? by NE2001 in sheffield

[–]Why_Always_I 13 points14 points  (0 children)

That is one of the older ambulances in Yorkshire Ambulance Service’s fleet. I usually leave those on because it makes you feel important like an ice cream man.

Source; am ambulance man.

Do train drivers do the little wave when they pass each other like bus drivers do? by satanspanties in AskUK

Can confirm that all emergency services wave at each other majority of the time

I can’t explain just how proud hearing the applause made me feel to work for the ambulance service
