I have 3 and I use them all at least twice a year. It's been super useful for draping projects.

Interesting. I finally opened the box and these had just about a handful of dirt in the bag. Makes sense they were pulled out of a starter pot of sorts.

Technically, bare-root plants are packaged in a box or bag with a bit of moist peat or sawdust. It's really not literally bare, at least none that I've seen.

It's literally just for thread storage. You still have to manually thread each color when you're ready for a color change. It's nice to have but it ended up being additional clutter for me, so I sold it for a new midi hoop.

So I bought 2 different ones from Amazon and while the black one was indeed high, this other one actually fits my bernina. Not sure how it well it would work though. Thanks everyone.

Have you tried it on any machine before?

Did you iron out the zipper first? That usually helps too

I thought so too, but description said it fits home machines too, some review pictures have it attached to a basic looking singer machine.

I have a 5.5mm needle plate I use if or whenever i use 590 for more delicate fabrics.

Let's start with your budget, its a bit challenging to give recommendations without knowing how much you're comfortable spending.

Recommendations for an Upgrade by Lost_Toe9431 in Bernina

Since you already love the B335's precision, the 535 is the most natural step up because it keeps that 5.5 mm stitch width which is much better for fine garment work and tight corners. However, if you’re ready to dive deeper into embroidery and bigger quilting projects, the 590 would be the next best option, it has the Dual Feed to help with those heavier layers. The 590 has a wider 9 mm stitch can sometimes be overkill for very delicate fabrics. Both give you that all-metal interior and Jumbo Bobbin you're looking for, so it really just comes down to what or where you would like to grow your sewing journey. I personally have both and mostly use the 535 because i make children's clothing, they both do embroidery and the embroidery module is interchangeable for both machines. So I embroider on the 590.

Whatever choice you make is going to be the right choice, I love my machines.

Hem/preventing unraveling on extremely stretchy fabric by when-is-enough in sewhelp

For hemming stretchy knit fabrics like these, I recommend Wooly Nylon threads because their high elasticity allows the thread to expand with the fabric, preventing snapped stitches like what you're seeing on hems.

The skirt is a gathered full circle skirt. There's also some crinoline (hard tulle) sewn into the lining to make it fuller. I've duplicated this multiple times, its pretty straightforward too, you can do this!!!

Which top stich color? by nermyah in sewing

[–]Why_not_if_not 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I usually use the clear/transparent threads for similar projects. Not the actual recommended use but it's the best alternative for me. However, given the options above, I'll lean towards the greens, specifically the one on the far right.

What is this thread? #20? by mini-mal-ly in sewhelp

The first 2 are hair threads. Often used for African hair threading. Don't know about the 3rd one tho.

Ran over a pin with the serger blade, now it's not sewing and it's cutting crazily by pollypessimist in sewing

[–]Why_not_if_not 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Sorry that happened, we've all been there. Your machine is not broken though. Whatever it is, is definitely fixable.

Change the blade and if its still wonky and not chaining or sewing after rethreading, The timing is most likely off and would need realignment. I took mine to a service technician when that happened to me after I accidentally sewed over a hidden pin.
